Yes it is possible, and its happened to me (not someone I know... although it did happen to my Mum during her second pregnancy), my periods (I had two before miscarrying) where lighter than normal but definately heavier than spotting, if it hadnt been for all the other symptoms I wouldnt have know I was pregnant. There were even clots which is what confused me!!!

Don't you ever notice that everyone always "knows someone" who this happens to...yet no one actually ever has it happen to them. Let me explain something--every month your uterus fills up with blood and prepares itself to hold a baby. Every month when the egg in the uterus is not fertilized, then the uterus will shed it's lining and the blood. That is your period. If the uterus HAS A BABY IN IT then it is obviously not going to shed it's lining and all the blood in it. So, no, a woman can not have a full menses while pregnant. Any doctor will tell you that.
Now, it is very common for women to spot during their pregnancy or maybe even have what they think is a light period. But this never necessitates any more than maybe a pantiliner. If the female has a period that is heavy enough to need a tampon or maxi pad....she is not pregnant and she is having her menstrual cycle.

Yes you can. I have met women who do. Some medical doctors say it is not possible but it can happen it is related to how much of the hormones you produce while you are pregnant that keep you from having a menstrual cycle. It is not common but it occurs. One woman I met said she had one all nine months but they got lighter. And I have heard a story of a woman who actually ovulated to get pregnant a second time but I do not know how much validity there is to that story I would have to check Urban myths etc. for that one.

yes, it differs from one person to the other. most likely three. though some people will have them till their last month, it will be either lighter than the usual one or even just spotting.
