I live in Portland Or. Im on welfare and they want me to find childcare fast!! Thay said that they pay for it but i guess they dont cover the whole tuition so i odnt know what to do. If i dont find a place to keep my child i will lose my benefits. Is there any website outhere that i have missed or do you know of someplace personally?? I dont just want to leave her with some quack babysitter, not that they are all quacks... they just make me nervous. You have seen the news im sure you understand. Any ways i dont know what to do i have been looking for about a month now and time for me is running out.

Im pregnant with my first baby and im sick of women telling me its my first so she will be late but i know it also depends on the person. I am just curious if anyone remembers how soon their first baby dropped before giving birth. My baby dropped a week an a half ago and Ive heard it can be up to four weeks before you give birth. Im 36 weeks pregnant and shes gonna be just fine being born now. Just cant wait to see her little face. So how early did you give birht after your first baby dropping?

Hi,

My child has an IQ of 145 up from 137 two years ago.
My question is would you seek out a special school for this type of child? We live very rural so this wouldn't be easy to find.
The school he's in offers twice a week gifted student class about 40 minutes each.

The question asked, made reference to this pregnant woman loosing her plug. She has cramping now and thinks she's in labor. I am a mother of one, my child is almost 17 years old, so maybe I forget what it is. I just don't ever remember hearing of any "plug". Can someone please tell me what that is?

My sister had a baby on the 21st and she was supposed to go home today but the dr. said they want her to stay because the baby's white blood count is really high. They tested him for Strep a and b and they both came back normal. They have an IV in the baby for antibiotics and they say he is doing better, but I just dont understand what this high white blood count could mean??

My daughter is nine years old, and I've lost her immunization records. Her school says they have no records(not really possible, they say they may have been lost?) and she hasn't had to get any in about 4-5 yrs, so the dr. office shes been going to has no records. How do I get ahold of her immunization records? Anyone else experienced something similar and has advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. thanks and God Bless!

My children have been in daycare for about 3 months and they have constantly stayed sick!!! They've been in 2 other daycares that had the approx. same amount of children but have NEVER been sick like this. The daycare has pretty strict rules about children coming in sick, but mine seem to be constantly sick. Throught 3 months I've had bronchitis and Pnuemonia. My fiance has had the same. And my children have had a variety my oldest being the worse having had pnuemonia twice in a month. How can I stop this from happening? I use lysol and hand sanitizers as much as possible. Any suggestions?

Where does SIDs supposively come from and how do infants get it? I have a baby book on it but doesn't explain in full.

Both of my kids slept on their tummys and had no problem, that's the only way I could get them to sleep.

Yesterday I saw a young woman, maybe even late teens and probably 7 months pregnant. She was smoking and then she got in a truck with a guy (boyfriend/husband/friend?) and didn't put on her seat belt and he was squealing his tires and messing around (and she still had the smoke in her mouth). Why can't women take care of themselves when they are pregnant??? Also, the other thing that really gets to me is a family in a car, windows all up and kids in the back. The parents are in the front puffing away. Why isn't this illegal?????? It is abuse and negligence pure and simple.

Anybody else agree???

My 1 year old daughter, Maeve, refuses to drink anything from a sippy cup. I have a couple different types, but each time I give her one, she has absolutely no interest in it. What would you suggest?

i'm male and frequently wet the bed from about 5 - to about 11! i had horrible night-mares in which i urinated! i stopped at about the time i began to have nocturnal erections (it's hard to go with an erection) which woke me up.
my bed wetting began when the dreadful fear of my abusive/frightening dad took hold. it seems that i spent my entire early childhood SCARD TO DEATH OF MY PARENTS. the horrible tensions of our everyday life was relieved in sleep when i'd wet - often several times a night! the rubber sheets, spankings, diet restrictions, self-hate, discomfort, etc. was mind boggling.

there's much more to this but i'd like to suggest that, if your kid is wetting, you might consider the kid's emotional/psychological condition (especially FEARS) along with genetic/physical causes. i know that you, like my parents, don't want to ever admit that YOU ARE THE CAUSE of your kid's reactions/behavior but YOU ARE for the most part! so, do somethng about your parenting!
