Why on earth are you sitting there, posting the same questions a couple of hours apart? if you're 3.5 cm dilated, you just lost your plug, and you're feeling back pains, chances are you're getting REALLY close to having your baby. So instead of being at your computer asking the same thing over and over again, get yourself to a hospital and have your ob-gyn check you out. It doesn't mean the baby's coming right this minute but do you really wanna take the chance of the baby coming while you're on the computer?

Having your bloody show is a sign of labor coming soon. This is of no real concern and really can't tell how long it will be before you are in labor. Although... having lower back pains are sometimes actually contractions and the way you are feeling them is behind instead of in front. Sometimes this is a sign that the baby is posterior, and this might prolong your labor, or make it more difficult. Of greater concern, however, is your blood pressure. You mentioned blurred vision. Is this happening now? Today or in the past 12 hours? You have been diagnosed as having hypertension, or high blood pressure. I would recommend you contact your midwife immediately if you are experiencing blurred vision often. You may be developing preeclampsia, which if left unchecked could create some serious, even life threatening, problems for both you and your baby. It is safer at this time for you to be in hospital where they can carefully monitor your blood pressure. It is likely that your labor will progress in the next day or so, or you might even be in early labor now. If, after monitoring your blood pressure, they have concerns that it is too high, you might have to have a c-section or induction, because the only real cure for preeclampsia is to not be pregnant anymore. For your health and the baby's they will want to deliver you as soon as possible. I would call your midwife and doctor now to consult with them about what to do. Good luck and take care. Just be assured you will soon have your baby in your arms! God bless, R PS in answer to your second question: in many labors the waters do not break until right before birth. Since this is the case, it is common practice in hospital for them to rupture your membranes, called an amniotomy, to "speed things along". This can be good, but not necessarily for the baby. And unlike modern media examples, most labors do not begin with the waters breaking. As I said before, it is likely that the lower back pain you're feeling now IS, indeed, early labor! Monitor this pain by timing the durations of it as well as from the beginning of one pain to the next. If these are 5-6 minutes apart and getting stronger, you need to head to hospital! You're about to be a mommy! Congrats!

The day after I lost my plug for my second child, I woke up and my water broke, then I went into labor. It is different for every woman and each pregnancy is unique in its own way, but I bet with the crampy feeling and lower back pains it will be soon. Try to get some rest before the big event. Good luck.

Yes, honey. Your pregnancy's not going to last much longer. All I suggest to you is to call our doctor/maternity ward to tell them of your symptoms and they will be able to offer you the right guidance. I understand your worries, I was the same during my pregnancy, and I also assumed that I was assuming things. Turned out, I was in labour, so please talk to your doctor or your local maternity ward.
Good luck, and remember, when you are having your contractions, BREATHE!!! I kept forgetting and had to be reminded all the time to breathe, and also, although it's said you can't have too much gas and air, I did, and nearly ended up unconscious because I breathed it in constantly- I was scared that if I stopped breathing it, the pain would come back- so I got shouted at by the midwife. So my advice, remember to take the gas and air inhaler thingy out of your mouth between contractions. Let each contraction wash over and focus on your breathing, and you will get through it. Remember that it will only be a few hours out your life that you hurt, and you will be blessed with a lifetime of rewards. I know that you didn't ask for most of that information, but I thought that it might be useful.
Get as much rest as you can right now sweetie, you'll need to be ready to cope with more pain that you have ever had, but it is only for a little while as I have already mentioned.

Okay.. sometimes I understand when people ask questions like this on here because they don't want to go to the doctor and get sent away becuase they were assuming things, BUT this is like the 5th time you have asked this today...
Are you sure you are even pregnant? Have you been timing your contractions? I am not sure what else kind of answer you want...
If you are looking for a definite YES or NO, you can't get it on here because none of us are there with you and we aren't doctors and even if we were we still wouldn't know because we aren't there...why don't you just get off the comptuer and go to the doctor..the worse they can do is send you home...Either that or stopasking the same questions every hour...
Good Luck..Hope you have a healthy baby!!

Why would you keep asking this today? What on earth would possess you to continue to sit there when you are in labor, asking the same question? The signs you are describing are the beginnings of labor. You need to call your doctor, your OBGYN, and get to the hospital.

It could mean that labor is close (though not necessarily). Definitely pay attention to those low back pains and cramps. If they get worse or the cramps become regular, call your doc! Good luck!!!
