She actually wants a contingent of troops (of an unknown number) to remain in order to fight terrorists and provide a quick-strike capability. She has also said that this will prevent Iran from having a free hand in Iraq should we leave altogether.

It pains me to say this, but I agree with her in all but one regard. I don't think there should be any draw down. That being said, she seems to be "tuned-in" to the realities of the war and the region.

Obviously, she is moving towards the center on this issue for political and practical reasons. Does her position put her at odds with far-left Liberals and Democrats? Is she trying to have her cake and eat it, too? Do you support her stance or do you think we should pull out completely?

Considering Al Queda's numbers alone , we're in big trouble no matter how you look at it . Considering Radical Islamist's numbers of members , and the percentages of 'sympathisizers'(roughly estimated to be between 20 and 40% of all Muslims) , we may be in a battle that has no end** . And folks , please be smart enough to know that even if we weren't in Iraq , they clearly would be advancing anyways there and elsewhere . Folks , they are active in 80 countries . And they would've likely been active in even more if we weren't forcing them to defend their positions in Iraq . Aside from Iraq , what about the other 79 countries ? We can't fight in 80 countries , not alone anyway . We'd need the whole world or the vast majority of it to join us . And for various reasons , that's never gonna happen . Then add Hezbollah and Hamas , coupled with their state-sponsors Iran and Syria , we are certainly in danger .

... in Congress. We get it that the Dems want to pull out of Iraq. So why are they wasting their time and taxpayer money to debate this issue over and over again, passing non-binding resolutions, and passing bills that they know will be vetoed and they don't have the votes to override?

People complained that the last Congress (Repub controlled) was a do-nothing Congress (and I agree), but so is this one. They're just doing nothing differently.

do you think it will be productive as a way to get candidates to show their real thinking or is it a stunt to massage the egos of youtubers and the candidates will predesign their answers as they too can preview all the questions? How could video uploaded by citizens better be used in a debate? Could the questions be kept secret? Under “Homeland Security,” we are told that we need to find a “balance” between liberty and security. This balance was completely absent from the philosophy of the Founding Fathers. This is one of the most dangerous developments in America today.

When the concept of Liberty, Freedom and democracy was starting to ignite with the american revolution and the french revolution.....including the idea of government of the people by the people for the benefit of the people.... who opposed it? who was scared to death of it? what arguments did they use to convince people it would fail???
