Our troops should come home tonight.
A massive airlift will do it.
We can defend ourselves.
The next attack on America will be the last one.
That is the Jacob doctrine.

Typical democrat theatrics. All for show...no substance.

I watched quite a bit of it, although, it really hasn't changed anything. Like most filibusters in the past, it served it's intended purpose well. No ones mind was changed, and no progress was made. All this over a vote, it doesn't make sense. I fail to understand why those against the amendment are so fearful of allowing it to come to a simple majority vote instead of 60 votes in favor. Oh well, it was entertaining to watch all the double speak, innuendo, and baseless accusations coming from both sides.

Not an airlift, but certainly a land route out through the Kurdish area and then Turkey. There's too much heavy equipment and munitions we don't want to leave behind, for it to be an airlift.

How many stayed up at one time and how many took turns while carrying a blackberry to alert others that a vote was coming up? When they call for a vote they have to give 10 minute notice and sound chimes, and everyone else but the voting Congressmen are kept off the internal subway in the tunnels, did you know?

Personally, I think it is pathetic that they think an all nighter would substitute for accomplishment.

You forget. Some of the ones for the war are against the killing.

The killing that will start if we leave too early.

Signs are good for a pull-out. We'll see.

At the same time, it is silly to think all our troops will leave. That has never happened in any armed conflict in our history. We don't want to leave a few men behind only to be butchered, any more than we want it to happen to the newly democratically elected government that the Iraqis have now.

Our days of being isolationist died with 3000 other people in the Twin Towers.

I'm certain the Pentagon and Bush administration have done their best to see that no news of this reaches the troops.

A massive airlift eh? Well sure, I guess you could do that, we could probably land 750 planes at once. Why didn't I think of that???

I love the Republicans who say publicly that the war needs to change course, but continue to vote to continue it. I hope they enjoy washing the blood of dead soldiers off their hands.

I finally found a new girlfriend for Mortimer on The Sims video game. Her name is Chris.

Their growing love intrigued me more than the all night snooze fest in Congress.
