What is the Jewish Cause? Not all Jews have to agree to a Jewish state do they? Like saying all Christians should Only support Christian states. Do all Muslims Support a world Islamic Nation? Do all Catholics Believe everything the Pope says? I think you may be wrong.

Not sure what the "jewish cause" is. Zionism began as a strictly secular cause... in fact it was decidedly socialist and anti-religious. Traditional Jewish beliefs hold that Jews are to live in the disapora until the Messiah comes. And, although there are some meshuganeh's in Brooklyn who'll disagree... he ain't shown up yet.

The establishment of the State of Israel was opposed on these grounds by many, if not most orthodox authorities . It was not until after the 6 day war, that orthodox jews living in Israel wholeheartedly supported the state and enlisted voluntarily in the army.

As a secular and democratic state, Israel is faced with numerous inconsistencies between state policy and Judaism, such as acceptance of reformed and other denominations, tolerance of a hostile Arab minority.... and it's overwhelming issue..... the mass exodus of second and third generation olim to the US.

It seems now on the road to becoming just another fundamentalist Middle Eastern Country ruled by intolerant crazies, or a failed secular state in which non-Jews have a voting majority.

As Meyer Cohane rightly pointed out, without a religious basis, the only justification for the existance of Israel is racisim. With a religious basis, it is inconsistant with a modern democratic Western state. That is the problem.

nicely, that guy became right into a d***h**d! i'm an atheist and in many situations occurring marriage became into to a Methodist, 2d marriage became into to a Roman Catholic. it is unlike being an atheist is an element of something, so how can somebody be a traitor? it is like putting your self interior the comparable can as a god-follower, being component to a non secular team. don't be concerned approximately it. everyone seems to be entitled to their ideals and that's what makes a competent god-follower or a competent atheist, they do no longer push their ideals onto others. i will understand why you felt stung via that remark. That person became into out of line, for particular.

We have two eyes to see two sides of things, but there must be a third eye which will see everything at the same time and yet not see anything. That is to understand Zen.
