Verse 39 of Chapter 22(The Pilgrimage) of the Holy Quran is the the one "Sanctioning authority to Muslims wronged by the unbelievers to avenge them in Jihad,The very next verse holds out the prime cause for jihad to be the "protection of churches, monasteries, synagogues and mosques from ruination by unbelievers! This establishes the unparallelled tolerance Islam has for other religions.
God's commandment is : "Do not kill yourselves (Suicide) nor kill one another (Homicide)[Holy Quran - 4: 29]That is suicide and homicide are prohibited in Islam. How, then, human bombs and mass killers be deemed Muslims?
According to verse 143 of chapter 2 of the Holy Quran, God "has made the Muslims a 'middle -ordered- society,' That means on no occasion a muslim could either be a "reactionary" nor a "terrorist". In other words,Islam and Terrorism are opposite poles! Thus, the phrase Islamic terrorism" is an oxymoron only.

As a rule I consider most religion to be nothing more than a poison designed to kill the world. And all of the Abrahamic religions are undoubtedly the best example. That said I don't judge these things by what people say,but by what they do. For every nice sounding little phrase you can find in the Quran there is another somewhere that is reprehensible in the extreme, and can be used to justify anything in the name of Islam, just as there is in the Bible. Instead I judge Islam by what it actually does, and what it has done is spread repression, death and hatred across the world for more than a thousand years. At least as reprehensible as some parts of Christianity are too, they at least had a bit of a reformation that stopped them from spreading death across the globe for awhile,a reformation that admittedly many modern Christians seem to be trying to undo. Personally I see very few redeeming characteristics to either ideology, and think the world will be better off when the following of these ancient hate filled ideologies is a thing of the past.

Whenever you have a country dominated by Islam, you have a problem with terrorism, extremism, and intolerance. This is not the case with any other group of people or religion. Although you point out some of the nice versus in the Koran, there are plenty about taking loot, shunning those who are not Muslim, conquering and taking taxes from unbelievers, and cutting unbelievers "at their necks" unless they either pay tribute or convert.
The fact is, throughout its history, Islam has been a religion filled with violence. From the "noble wars" that Mohammed fought against the Pagans in Mecca, to robbing caravans, to conquering the Christian lands of Egypt and the rest of the Byzantine Empire, and the spread of Islam by the sword throughout Africa, India and other parts of Asia, to the ever so enlightened Taliban, Islam and intolerance/violence go hand in hand.

Hi. It's really nice that you've quoted these two passages. But, none of the hijackers 'killed themselves'. They are martyrs in their own twisted view.

IRA and ETA don't kill indiscriminately, nor are they trying to end an entire way of life. IRA wants the 6 provinces in Northern Ireland part of Ireland, not the UK.

ETA wants a separate country for their fellow Basques.

Neither group wants to destroy America. Al Qaeda sure does. They claim to be Muslims.

See it now?

Because the Muslims who follow Islam are not hammering the radicals who distort the teachings of Mohammed. And the radicals who distort the teachings of Mohammed are 'claiming' to be following Islam.

You are right an Islamic terrorist is an oxymoron. But as long as that isn't pointed out on a regular basis (especially in mosques)a relationship between Islam and terrorism will be seen as truth not fiction.

Nobody is saying that Islam is a bad religion.
If I switch on my T.V I see some terrorist leader's video saying something.tht such and such country is gonna attacked or some kidnapped persons are gonna killed.
I cant follow what they say.But I hear him saying Allah Allah couple of times.I know Allah is Prophet Muhammed. He justifies his violent actions in the name of Islam or in then name of Prophet Muhammed.
Dont you think he is the enemy of your religion??

Just last week in Pakistan,a mosque was stormed by the army there.I saw it on tv of so many weapons including modern rifles, grenades, rockets,al those which you would expect to find in a proffessional army. How can a religious place like that store weapons. This mosque barely a kilometre from the president's house was storing weapons. The students there fought against the army. That means they knew to use those weapons.
How can a cleric use a place of worship like that???
Dont you think it is people like those who are bringing the bad name to your religion. What right they have to quote from Islam and kill innocent people.
Now the entire world including me criticise America for what they have done in Iraq. But there is another angle towards it.Dont you think all these are happening just because of that horrific day called September 11.What was the need to do that.I felt strange when I heard Bin Laden on tv that September 11 happend because what happend in Libya in 1970s.For something that happend 3 decades ago,he is coming back and taking revenge in 21 st century.Who has America spared by the way??Everyone knows what America did in Vietnam.Does it make sense that today somebody from Vietnam comes back and takes revenge on America.

The IRA, is considered a terrorist organization. They occupy an infinitesimally small part of the sum of terrorists. The overwhelming majority of terrorists are followers of Islam. This does not by any means suggest that all Muslims are bad...quite the contrary. You cannot argue numbers though. Statistically nearly all terrorists are followers of Islam. I do believe they have perverted the intentions of the teachings they should follow.

OK...you win today's award for naivete...Congratulations!!

So you're saying that ALL practitioners of ALL religions follow ALL scriptural writings faithfully and without fail and without ANY interpretation...RIGHT?? And you're also saying that anyone who breaks a scriptural rule isn't really a follower of that religion...RIGHT??

That must be VERY confusing for followers of Islam...due to ALL the scriptural passages that contradict the ones you've posted??

Even w/ that...by your definition...Catholics were in NO WAY responsible for The Inquisition...and I'm sure the LA Arch Dioceses will be thrilled NOT to have to pay out $660 million in the sex abuse scandal...because those weren't actual "Catholic" Priests that did the molesting...same for the Bishops and Cardinals that covered it up...since BY YOUR DEFINITION... anyone who breaks the rules ISN'T REALLY A FOLLOWER OF THE CHURCH!!

And...while you were busy looking for Holy Quran quotes to support your naive argument...you apparently failed to notice that for the last...oh I don't know...nearly a CENTURY...that the IRA were considered terrorists by the British authorities. BUT...that doesn't really matter...since they apparently WEREN'T REAL Catholics anyway!!

Next you'll be telling us Hitler wasn't such a bad guy...cause "Mein Kampf" was about political and financial reform...not about genocide.

IRA were labeled as Catholic terrorist, UDF were the protestant version.
ETA is a non religious movement who want a separate basque state.

Currently most terrorism in western countries is by groups who commit them in the name of Islam and so are correctly labeled Muslim terrorists. How many members of Al Qaeda are christian or Jews?

Nice try @ rationalizing but it doesn't work. Radical Islam is directly responsible for the suicide/homicide bombings in Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, Somalia, Thailand, et al. Islam is a made-up "religion" that fomented around 900 yrs after Christ with a prophet named Mohammed who was in fact a sexual deviate & child molester. There is no God there, just Satan. As for the IRA & the ETA, it to my memory that it was always couched in the terms of Protestant & Catholic terrorism.
