Sorry. Check your history books. It was richard milhouse nixon, the great republican that got America involved in Vietnam.

Kennedy was having success at diplomacy until he was assinated.

Johnson just protected America's interests, but nixon instituted the draft.

Thats what they do
they call people names
they send kids to war
they reap profits in the stocks
they deny minimum wage for America's poorest workers
(until they are forced to accept it)
they make major issues out of personal matters
(haircuts bj's while 1st lady bush's haircut was MORE and the leader of the lynch gang on the bj case was having an affair )
But after the Libby trial we now know Republicans lie under oath too! And they lie rather often when not under oath, as the Bush administration continues to demonstrate. And not just about sex either, but about the nation's mundane business – things like the cost of the Medicare plan. George Bush not only lied to the whole nation about its cost, but Medicare chief Thomas Scully threatened actuary Richard Foster with firing if he revealed the true cost of the bill to members of Congress before the vote was taken. And let's never forget exactly how that vote was accomplished by the narrowest of margins.
Want something more recent? Take the firing of eight US Attorneys, and the administration's claims that none of them were about politics. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' top deputy claimed the firings were necessary because of "performance-related" issues; then it came to light that all but two of the dismissed prosecutors had outstanding evaluations for competence. Justice Department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse called the prosecutors "disgruntled employees grandstanding before Congress." In fact the fired attorneys had refused to appear voluntarily before Congress, and only did so after being subpoenaed by the House Judiciary subcommittee. Where is the truth in all this?

Of course we all are familiar with the administration's many lies over reasons for going to war with Iraq (Saddam Hussein's connections with 9/11, Iraq's nuclear weapons program, mobile biological labs, weapons of mass destruction etc.), lies incorporating various heroic myths in the prosecution of the war (the Jessica Lynch fable, the Pat Tillman fable, the Saddam capture fable, etc), lies over monumental waste and fraud, lies over exactly what was happening at Guantanamo, Bagram and Abu Ghraib, lies about the numerous innocent people kidnapped and sent abroad for torture in black prison sites the US wouldn't even admit existed.

They slander true Vets (John Kerry) and hire a person that went A W O L to run the country

You should be happy people don't call you an outright liar.

It was LBJ who escalated the war in Vietnam. And because he feared political backlash if he mobilized the reserves, the draft call-ups were increased. By 1969, when Nixon was inaugurated, the US had some 550,000 troops in Vietnam.

Nixon was elected to get us out of Vietnam - peace with honor. Not sure I fully agree with this direction, or how it was accomplished, but the Paris peace accords were signed in 1973, and the last US servicepeople left in 1975.

The draft had been in continuous existance since WW2, but in 1969 it was changed to a lottery draft. Nixon also eliminated the draft altogether in 1973, instituting the all-volunteer military.

If it became definitely a civil union i does not techniques it being observed as such. If the union got here approximately in a court docket abode extremely than a church then it may well be considered a civil union. A civil union is a criminal action taken between 2 events, which supplied particular rights to the two persons. In different words this might artwork for couples that don't choose the religious defined marriage. i'm shocked many nonreligious persons do not consult with their "marriage" as a civil union already.

Good point. I have been called every name in the book. It's all the Republicans know and all they have. The neo Con types are very desperate, you can tell that when they present no facts and start with the personal attacks and hate mongering.
Funny to me that I have been called all the same names and heard all the same insults before, during the protest of the Viet Nam occupation. WE lost 58,000 service members then.
It is not at all funny how we treat vets now the same as then. It is also not funny that we have lost over 3700 of Americas best and bravest in Iraq.
Iraq is a Republicans war and it's about oil and money..

I've looked at your questions. As someone who disagrees with you on several points, and has pointed out the political bigotry of your posts, I would not call you a troll. You really believe what you are posting.

You have a right to believe it. You have a right to say it.
I and others like me fought for free speech and free expression. I'll stand with you on that.

I find the name-calling inappropriate. Referring to behavior is one thing. I would never call you a political bigot. People change, they grow.

They can't do that if they can't communicate.

Keep speaking up.

I am not a Republican. But if you think Nixon was the first to get us involved in Vietnam than you are either a liar or you are stupid.

I don't mind all republicans, I mind the ignorant ones who can't think for themselves and who have no idea what is going on in the rest of the world.

I like liberal moonbat myself... a couple weeks ago a post suggested sending all liberal moonbats to Australia. I eagerly raised my hand, now I'm just waiting for the first-class airline ticket to arrive in the mail.
