Why is there ALWAYS either war or a depression whenever the republicans are in office?

To all of you that claim FDR was responsible for the Great Depression, it was Herbert Hoover, the great republican president that ushered in the stock market crash of 1929, which triggered the Great depression. Check you history books.

I have to put in that with Reagan, both of those were kept at minimal/impact. (And Papa bush took General Powell's advice. Which left the Iraq I battle concise, decisive, short and to the point.)

I vaguely remember FDR having the Great Depression and a World War occurring when he was in office. And I am certain the economy is doing great right now, and that there is no recession or depression, so you are just ranting.

Korea- started under Democrat Truman, ended under Republican Eisenhower
Vietnam- started under Democrats Kennedy and Johnson, ended under Republican Nixon.
The largest peace time economic expansion in the history of the world was in the United States during the 1980s under Republican Reagan.

There has been some type of U.S. military use in combat areas for (at least) the last 60 years... this span covers every administration, both Republican and Democrat.

Actually, it's because my party has become anti-business and anti-war.

When our economy starts going bad, we call in the Republicans.

When we are threatened by outside forces, we call in the Republicans.

Why would you put a party that is anti-war or anti-business in power when things are bad?

When those things are dealt with, they put a democrat back in, as we value our freedoms more than almost anything.

What is unfortunate is the socialist leanings that have taken over my party, such that we are no longer a party about freedom. I fear for our future if we can't get back to the things we have been so successful with.
