rather than voting once every five years for someone who gets to make all YOUR decisions for you!....ie; do you want to see some real genuine democracy?

or dou you see us as irresponsible infants who should be mollycoddled soothed and pandered to, and "looked after" by the mummy and daddy politicians?

if politics&the law are bought off by by business and finance, dont we need to start having a direct say in the decisions being taken?

YES, I have thought this for a long time. Maybe not EVERY issue but certainly most, especially about anything to do with us, eg taxation, ID cards, immigration, house building, big brother tactics, the right to execute burgulars etc, rip off motoring costs, rip off council tax.... that would be a start but our dear elected dictators wouldn't like that, so I wont hold my breath.

I think that voting for someone every few years i rediculous, especially as many in the end do not stick to waht they said before they were elected. I would love to be able to vote on things in this way. Then we may not have the situation in the UK where MP's can vote to hide their expences, even though i'm sure most of the public would rather their expenses were made public.

A new website, myverdict.net, has been launched to find the majority opinion on every issue, for every community, from local level to international. It's free, anonymous, carries no ads and doesn't sell anything. Debate so far is reasoned and coherent and some important questions have been put to the vote.

Not exactly, because I think the masses won't get educated enough on the issues. However, I definitely think the country should have a referendum process as well as a recall process that does not require impeachment. If the voters really want it enough to go out and get the signatures, we should be allowed say on the issues.

No, people would soon tire of that and just the overzealous voting, the results would be meaningless. Referendums should be held on important national issues, such as the E.U. Amending Treaty. The problem would be, who is to decide what is and what is not an important issue.

Yes, we need to take back our country and our rights. It doesn't matter who we vote for they are always corrupted by the government. It is time we were able to vote for everything that comes up. The government votes themselves raises, pork spending and don't care at all about the people who voted them in. Most of us would agree to vote monthly for our country. If it were done over the computer we could probably vote more often.

You ask this question to a population that elected a village idiot from the Northeast who is posing as a Texan?(TWICE)! I think there should be a test to get to vote. How many U.S. voters could pass the 8th grade citizenship tests that we all had to pass to get into high school?

That is a great idea but it will never happen. The politicians are all self and they will continue to run the country in a manner which benefits them personally and furthers their careers. Corruption rules o.k.

We do have a say, every day, in business and finance - as consumers.

McDonalds doesn't make the hamburgers it thinks we should eat - it makes the hamburgers that we tell them we want, by buying those burgers at a price that enables them to make a profit.
