do you think it will be productive as a way to get candidates to show their real thinking or is it a stunt to massage the egos of youtubers and the candidates will predesign their answers as they too can preview all the questions? How could video uploaded by citizens better be used in a debate? Could the questions be kept secret? Is this cnn youtube debate a real bridge between polticians and voters or is it a circus where folks will watch to see themselves on tv.and others will watch cause it might be strange ? im steven marcus at www.inglesgarantizado.com

I read there are two people who are prescreening and choosing the questions - the producer and directors. Then Anderson Cooper will be able to view the ones selected.

The object of the debate is to hear what the politicans have to say, when the questions are going to be random. With that said, anyone can log onto youtube to see the submitted videos. I believe over 1400 have been submitted as of yesterday. Only a fraction of those will be considered.

I have high expectations. I think it will be an interesting concept that will bridge technology with politics. I look forward to watching the debates.

Cheers.

Let's hope it can be a bridge between the candidates and ordinary people.I have little faith that politicians will not try to make it into one big stunt.It's up to the American people or the youtube community especially to not let them have it their way.I'm afraid American politics is too much of a circus anyway.This initiative could be different and I'm hopeful it's possible to really challenge the status quo in this type of debate.Lots of people also love the showbiz aspect of politics.It shows in the issue's that get repeated over and over in a Presidential race but also for example in a lot of the questions that are asked here.
Informed passionate integer people can make a difference and I really hope they ask the hard questions.This is a chance,let's hope we don't have to hear too much silliness like what's the candidates favorite music and such.That's of course fun to know but highly irrelevant.Stop the showbiz by asking the real though questions.That's what I hope for;
