Israel is the only decent country in the middle east. The muslim countries surrounding Israel should admit that islam and the hatred it teaches is the reason their people are so poor relative to Israelis, leave Islam, and ask the true God of the Bible to forgive them for ever believing in the lies of muhammad who said the pagan arab moon god allah is the God of the Bible.
If the arab muslims do this, I'm sure Israel will accept them as brothers and there will be peace.

It has potential. However, it is not fulfilling that potential due to circumstances of location.
It's military is prone to overreaction. It has defied countless UN resolutions and it attacked its most stable and democratic neighbour.
But I understand that it cannot leave the occupied territories until stability and its citizens safety can be assured.
I have to admit I had a lot of problems with Israel and they where starting to be broken down because of the progress which was being made with Palestine. However, my confidence in Israel was shattered because of the Lebanon incursion.
Israel can become great, a shining beacon for the rest of the Middle-East, but just because the USA will protect Israel no matter what does not mean the country has Carte-Blanche.
Iran is a massive threat but the key to neutralising that threat is the creation of a viable and independent Palestinian state.

Honestly I think the creation of Israel might have been the biggest political blunder in human history. I have nothing against the average Israeli, but this obssession with a Jewish homeland,or the "Holy Land",what has it done for anyone? After what happened in Europe during WWII I guess I don't necessarily blame them for wanting a land that was entirely theirs, but the creation and maintaining of the state of Israel has done nothing more than create more hate and loathing in a part of the world that already had plenty of both.
What's done is done, and if Israel truly wants to live in peace alongside the Arab world I think they should be allowed to, it is long since past time for a solution to this mess. But honestly I still have to wonder how so many supposedly intelligent people didn't realize that the creation of Israel was a mistake of unimaginable proportions from the very beginning.

I think they are picked on all the time. If one listens to the rantings of the president of Iran and other Middle Eastern leaders, then one would think that Israel was taking up a huge space of land. However, get out your world map. They are only a TINY portion of the Middle East. I say, leave the Jewish people alone - they have suffered enough. Try reading "Now They Call Me Infidel" by Nonie Darwish. She is a former Muslim who converted to Christianity after she realized that the Muslims preach hate against the Jews. She is head of an organization called "Every Arab for Israel." Now that is what Arabs/Muslims should be doing if they want peace. While the Jewish people are imperfect, just like the rest of us, they are totally different than the terrorists who want to kill and maim.

Nothing, other than it is be the biggest bone of contention between the west and the middle east, because the land was forcibly seized and repopulated.
The U.N. sure wasn't your Messiah as far as I'm concerned.

During those rare times when I do think of your country, I come to the conclusion that you need to get over yourselves.
You and the Palestinians need to settle this whole land dispute once and for all.

I resent my country's (the USA) unwavering support of Israeli policy that can only be described as inhumane and brutal. Israel's system that can only be described as apartheid imprisons the Palestinian population in "refugee camps," and deprives them of liberty, livelihood, water, and political recognition.
Having said that, I have nothing against Israeli people. I have always admired the strong sense of solidarity among Israelis and their resilience and dedication to defend their small and always threatened nation. Also admirably, Israel has among the highest proportion of Doctorate degrees of any country in the world.

It's alright. I would rather have seen Israel built in Arizona rather than the Middle East, because the creation of Israel has caused many wars and destruction and Jews would have been welcome in Arizona.
