I have successfully completed probation in 2006, with early termination. I have recommendation letters from my P.O, teachers, manager at work, counselor. I am volunteering at the V.A Hospital. I was a minor when I committed the "offenses" however, it's a bit of a track record. I basically just stated my pros before listing my cons, as a means to avoid pre-judgement. I have ammended my life, but I have two drug charges, and a burglary charged-reduced to trespasssing. Not that it makes it any better? Will any service take me, looking for Marines. If not could I still enlist with an option 40 to go Ranger? Is there anything I can do to better my chances. Thank you and God bless you all who serve our country.

By George! let's see the caskets of almost 4000 of our troops and about a million Iraqi's killed, grief stricken survivors and victims and bereaved families of soldiers, brain injuries, amputees, a huge growing debt in the trillions deferred for our children and grandchildren to pay, a draft to supply the needed troops so repeat tours aren't needed. For what? How bad can it get before the people demand the troops be brought responsibly home, IMPEACHMENT. ENOUGH! Stop the self proclaimed deciders and let the majority of this democracy rule! One nation, divided, with torture, spying, wire tapping, raiding of the U.S. treasury by the military & greedy corporate industrial complex, and injustice and no bid contracts for all croneys and Bush loyalists! Remember the Boston Tea Party? Where's the people's representation in Congress? Take your sign to the streets. Write your congresspersons.Let the buck charge King George, "commander in chief". Let's have some accountability for a CHANGE!

I know someone who just got kicked out by her roommate and now has no place to go. She is still not discharged from the military and has only been home from Iraq for 4 months. She's been over there twice already. I unfortunately cannot take her in. Is there someone she can contact or someone that can help her?

we have an amazing military with great men and technology but the problem is the people running it have never been in the military and also many of the people who are running for president. they dont know how it works, how it feels, or what the limits are on it. i think America's military would greatly benefit if people who had at least 4 years military service were the only ones allowed to run and get elected isnt that why Gen. Eisenhower was such a great war time president?

I scored a 56 on my asvab...I am not satisfied with that because it got me a storekeeper job in the US Navy...I will retake that test again and score much higher so I can qualify for a more better job...Hmmmm, how long do I have to be a storekeeper until I can change jobs?

Hi and good evening. Let's clear a few things up about the US Navy...the branch I am going to in a few months...First off, the US Navy doesn't participate in the Middle East War or any war...What I am saying is I won't go to boot camp and a year later I am a sailor in Iraq? That doesn't make sense when boot camp is 80% book work and 20% physical...So will I be going to war, my friends????

Secondly, as a storekeeper in the Navy...I know, I know and I know that is not the best jobs in the Navy but wouldn't I have time for college or any other schooling that can abroaden my education?

Thirdly and lastly, I heard by many old heads that the US Navy is fun...You travel, you meet new friends, Uncle Sam takes pretty good care of his own and you get to serve your country...

Please answer all my questions to the best ability possible...I'm eagered and at the same time skeptical...please just tell me what you know...thank you and thank you....

Future US Navy SK,
Winston

I plan to follow career in the NAVY so I have some questions:

What do I need to do to be seen and recognized in the NAVY, to be appointed for officer position?

I have my bachelor's, is it possible for me to attain my master's while in the service? Will that help me with OCS?

What about my PHd?

Prior to this war, it was a tradition to show the caskets being removed from the cargo planes at Dover A.F.B. It showed how many soldiers lost their lives in combat. I served in Vietnam and when I heard the casuality rate, it was just a number. When I returned home and actually saw the caskets being removed from the planes it changed my views on the war. I know that President Bush had something to do with it, but I don't know why he did it. Does anyone actually know why his administration did away with this tradition?

It went "Last night I had the strangest dream I've ever dreamed before" and finished with "and guns and swords and uniforms were scattered on the ground" Now I am pretty certain it was an anti war/vietnam protest type song but why was I taught this in school at the age of 4/5, (in the UK) who wrote it/sang it and why have I never heard it since?

I heard this from a Korean War vet who won a Bronze Star. I assume he meant too heavy, too powerful to be lugged around in combat

my husband recentley joined the army and he's been in boot camp for 5 weeks. since day one he has been begging me to get him out. of course i just kept ignoring it and writing him letters to encourage him. the letters dont work. he says its not that he cant do the physical part he just wont adjust to army life and he's in infantry so he also refuses to kill anyone in iraq or anywhere else. as the weeks progressed his attitude got worse and the things he was saying scared me. he actually said he's getting to the point of committing suicide. i tried calling the chaplain on base and i called his captain and told him my worries and that i didnt think my husband was right for the army. the captain told me that he would talk to him about it and instead of helping he made it worse, he got in trouble. i also already brought up the whole ELS thing and i guess that isnt an option. i just want my husband home and safe. i have two young kids. im sure you can understand.

where can I find the finacial help to relocate back home while my husband is deployed to Iraq for 15 months. The job search is slim, I am educated and have other job offers back home but don't want to commit/contract to one company and have the company relocate me and be obligated to the company for years.
