depends on how far you are from ground zero and how deep in the cave you are. If you are one mile from a 50 megaton blast, the shock wave could still kill you.

It has been proven that unless a Nuclear attack is directly used in a largly populated are most people will survive.

The Blast is the biggest part that will kill you immediatly. The fallout will cause troubles like lukemia later but if you are outside of the 10 mile range you are usually fine (considering whether patterns)

This is not saying that is a place like NY was attacked by a nuclear strike potentially millions won't die.(They will) It is just saying the area affected by the blast and the fallout is realtivley smaller than most people believe.

Yes, A cave will protect you. IF the cave is deep enough and doesn't have a direct flow of air from the surface.

If a bomb is dropped near the entrance or directly over a non deep partion over the cave the blast may be spread throughout the cave and wouldn't be safe otherwise you would be fine.

Do you really think you could survive something that is 3 times hotter than the core of the sun by hiding in a cave? The cave would turn into dust in a second.

You can survive IF the cave is deep enough and has many doglegs in it as to where the fallout and radiation can't reach you, but you should make sure that you have enough food and water for
a long time, such as anywhere from 6 months to a
year!! Also, if the nuclear attack/fallout was NOT a direct hit, there is a much greater chance of survival!!

It would depends on the availability of water and food, and bear in mind that caves tend to be cold, dark, and damp. You'd want to have a fire, and most caves lack anything that will burn.

i've got continually had a plan in the decrease back of my innovations for this. in the escalation of incidents this is probably to hold approximately a nuclear conflict......i might pass to Dover, scouse borrow a passenger ferry with all its accountability unfastened fags and alcohol, and a variety of of meals aboard and sail into the middle of the Atlantic, out of any blast zone and park up and get under the effect of alcohol.

It would help you for a while, but as i would also be looking for a cave (along with many others), you'll find your not out of danger, esp. when the crops fail & water becomes an issue !! Do you get my meaning ?? yum yum !
