I know someone who just got kicked out by her roommate and now has no place to go. She is still not discharged from the military and has only been home from Iraq for 4 months. She's been over there twice already. I unfortunately cannot take her in. Is there someone she can contact or someone that can help her?

Sorry to doubt your friend's story, but really, her situation is highly improbable--practically impossible. You're being deceived.

She needs to contact her direct supervisor if there are no barracks rooms available to her. If anything, she can probably get into temporary lodging because her hardship.

Of course, if she is on terminal leave or awaiting discharge, she may not have the option of the BEQ.

Has she tried her family or even perhaps the USO for temporary assistance? Some areas have lodging available and representatives that she can access for guidance.

If she is near any military installation she can contact one of the following. It doesn't matter what her branch is, they will help her since all three have cooperative agreements:
Army Emergency Relief
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
Air Force Aid Society.
She can also make contact to any of those three military-connected charities through any military reserve center or national guard armory.

She hasn't saved any money from being in the military? Tell her to get her own place, and help her find one. Since she still in, maybe she could reenlist.

She should contact her first line leader and let them know of the situation- they should be able to help her out.

If she isn't discharged yet, then she can sign up to get into the barracks when there is a space.

go to www.give2thetroops.org and ask them if they can help..

Also, she needs to talk to her command and let them know the situation, or re enlist if her term is close to being over..

Good luck to her and hope she finds a place soon!!
