Yes Ive asked this before. But I want to be sure because this is a path I would like to take. I know with the war there will be deployments, so ignoring this part of it.. US Army State side will I be able to pursue college at all? Does it depend on a sympathetic Chain of Command? Does it depend on type of MOS? Any thing need to be worked out INTO the contract? OR will Distance learning work good enough??

For example I am going to enlist as either 35M or 35P. worst case if I dont get my Clearence is 27D.

Considering they are Combat SUPPORT MOS, would this make it easier? harder?

OR should I just enlist for the minimum 3 years with the MOS I want, And then go Green to Gold when I can?(Id rather this be avoided, but if its the only way...)

I am 27 yrs. old and I was recently denied federal student aid for college on the ridiculous grounds of not having registered with the Selective Service when I was between the ages of 18 and 25.During that period of 7 yrs. I attempted to join 3 different branches of the armed forces but was rejected every time because of prior felony convictions. That being said, one could reasonably assume that even though I was turned down by each branch,me becoming registered with the Selective Service would've been a routine part of the recruitment procedure. But however,it was not. What can be done about this poor excuse by the government not to help someone further their education? Is there a way around this?

OK, I was just wondering if its possible for me to get on-base housing while my husband is deployed to Iraq. I don't really know how all of that works because we have always rented a house off base. He won't be back until April. We have been married for almost a year and if it matters at all, he is a LCpl. We had talked about it before he left a little. Also, can u tell me some of the pros/cons to living on base?
He is stationed at Camp Lejeune. What are the houses on base like? I know there are some really nice ones...but what are the chances of getting a nice one compared to a not so nice one?

I am debating between Army and AF, but my friends who were recently in the Army inform me that many Army jobs are not transferable into the civilian world once you get out. Is it difficult to get a technical job? What jobs WOULD qualify in life after military service?

Any info helps! Thanks you in advance!

Does anyone know any good sites for a potential Army chaplain to visit. Or does anyone have any info about chaplaincy in the Army? I'm thinking of becoming one in case the draft is reinstated and need to know more about it. Thanks

My girlfriend was in a very long relationship with her ex-boyfriend and it ended about a year and a half ago.
I know the guy and he was always a pretty nice person.
Truthfully she realy screwed him over and all though I love her I don't agree with whats she's done to him.
Well she's pretty much screwed him over in every way and walked all over him. She has everything of his, robbed his bank accounts and there isn't anything he can do about it.
He realy trusted her and no understatement she ****** him over enough where he has on multiple occasions attempted suicide because he can't deal with it.
Well the problem is that he's finaly grown a backbone(yes he is army) and my girlfriend posted pics of her and I kissing (realy kissing) on myspace and nude pics on adult friend finder. He's going to turn it over to the media and her unit he said to bury all his bitterness. Well I know my girlfriend did wrong and I don't agree with what she did but how can I help her and stop this.
