That would mean the USA has tens of millions fewer citizens than advertised (probably at least 200 million fewer), including children too young to join the military. Come on, think about the implications of your question. Oh, and I guess the Speaker of the House isn't a citizen.

certainly not. You have to be a perm resident in order to join the military, which means you've already done a lot of paperwork & waiting so you can stay here forever. Citizenship provides a few extra benefits (like voting), and does not in any way require military service. However, if you do choose to serve in the military then it does rapidize that process significantly.

No. Another way would be to be born on US Soil. Continental US, Territories, Bases and Navy Ships.

Or you can go ahead and apply for it at an Embassy or Consulate.

Military will help you get it though..it isn't guaranteed, but it does.
