Yes Ive asked this before. But I want to be sure because this is a path I would like to take. I know with the war there will be deployments, so ignoring this part of it.. US Army State side will I be able to pursue college at all? Does it depend on a sympathetic Chain of Command? Does it depend on type of MOS? Any thing need to be worked out INTO the contract? OR will Distance learning work good enough??

For example I am going to enlist as either 35M or 35P. worst case if I dont get my Clearence is 27D.

Considering they are Combat SUPPORT MOS, would this make it easier? harder?

OR should I just enlist for the minimum 3 years with the MOS I want, And then go Green to Gold when I can?(Id rather this be avoided, but if its the only way...)

I might have forgotten to add...about other variables that might affect your answers and stuff. I don't drink as its against my religion, I don't smoke, I don't party hard like a rock star. Well I can party, but it isn't my life.

And no the AA isn't my primary goal really, Id just like to have it because I know I want a college education, but I also want to help out, I don't want to be on hold permanently, but I want to try get SOMETHING while enlisted. I can pursue college and go reserve, but I want to go and help soon enough with my skills as an Arabic proficient speaker(native tongue, born a US Citizen though) and that I totally sympathize with the war effort.

easily done. between the college credits you earn for your military training, CLEP. and the Army College online, it is entirely doable. Of course, you already acknowledged the fact that a deployment would put everything on hold. You just need to focus and prioritize your self and your duties.

I attend college online at Ellis(part of NYIT). In nearly every class I have taken there has been at least one Active Duty servicemember. In fact one class, All Five Branches were represented!.

In the army, you will ALWAYS have the opportunity to further your education and skills--but you may have to be creative in the way you do it, and you may have to sacrifice a lot to get it done. Whether or not you can actually get your AA or AS within that time is another question--it can be done, but there are too many variables to make it a guarantee. I would advise you not to enlist with that specific goal in mind. You will be learning and growing and maturing and banking GI BIll money. But if your main goal is the Associates Degree, rather than the job, enlisting would probably be a wrong turn.

if you're planning on getting your degree while in the military. 1) go Air Force, it would be much easy than doing in the Army.
2) do not, do not get any kind of combat arms mos stay far from them. there is a very slim chance for you to take college course. you will be in the field over 90% of your time training.
3) I would suggest that you try to get into the Admin field as a unit clerks or finance. they field duty is low and you have a better chance to take college class in the evening.

the green to gold options, you must have a AA proir apply for it.

You mandatory to make that determination till now you signed. you are able to drop out of DEP, however the AF does not look in any respect kindly on that & won't enable you to returned later. What i could have instructed you is flow look after/reserve and take great thing relating to the coaching advantages. At this factor, i'm happy you already comprehend approximately CCAF. study extra approximately that. flow that direction, then start up utilising for commisisoning classes that enable you to pop out to AFROTC & end your degree on a similar time as getting lively accountability pay. it fairly is aggressive, yet despite the fact that in case you don't get in you would be working on your degree & finally finally end up almost immediately after your enlistment is up. you will locate the enlisted rigidity interior the AF is extremely nicely knowledgeable.
