I recently heard of 3 brothers from Texas that were being sent to Iraq and will be stationed in the same base. I was just wondering if there was a legal limit of siblings that the US can send to war.

There's a soldier at work who, through no fault of his own, was not on the duty roster for the last two months. Because of this, one of his NCOs decided that he, and only he, has to take out the trash for the next month. There was no counseling involved, and it is not extra duty. I need a general public ruling. Duty entails working at most two hours more than normal about four days of the month.

It was reported that active duty military who signed up for another 6 years to be spent in Iraq or Afghanistan would get a bonus of $16,000.00. Later, it was reported that the agreement wouldn't be honored, those who had received the money would have to give it back & still honor to serve the 6 years. I haven't heard anything since. Has anyone else heard how this played out? Does anyone wonder why morale is so bad?

So they could try out what talking Crap about the Gov. would get them.. They would be the Friday afternoon Hanging, beheading, or the old bullet to the head show. ther Families would get to be part of that to getting the same.
But they sure like to stay here. when they are free to go live in any of the above.
God Bless America Our brave Troops And Our Great Way of Life.

In your opinion, do you think that a person should have to serve in the military to have the right to vote? Do you think it would give people a greater appreciation of what rights they have? Do you think someone should have to serve to have any other rights given to them?

I have been in the Navy for 8 1/2 years, and I have been on a ship, to recruiting duty, and now with a squadron. I am one PT failure away from being discharged honorably with an ADSEP. My chain of command says they can get me a waiver to stay in, but I don't want their waiver........if the navy won't except me the way I am, then I don't need to be part of there organization.........How can I break it to them that I am just going to leave, without taking their waiver without them treating me like crap? I see it coming to that, and why won't they just let me go without pressuring me? There is better money on the other side of the gate.

He is trying to figure out which branch.... he is a smart kid but as a teen started hanging with the wrong people, not making good decisions, not getting good grades. Never anything that resulted in charges put on him or jail. He is now 18, has his diploma and really needs some discipline (my perspective). He does not feel he is ready to go to Iraq though but says he is ok with long periods away from home. What should I do to lead him in the right direction?

You always see military movies were the character says something like, "we are four clicks south of your position". So, what is the measurment of a "click"? Is it a mile or something?

Sometimes I long for the days of the cold war, when we knew where we stood, and we spent lots of money on trips in space, instead of invading Iraq and other countries.

Someone told me that the army was paying civilians $1000 to civilians for each person they could recruit to join the Army (and another $1000 after said recruit completes basic training). Has anyone else heard about this and if so how could I get involved?

I dont mean he has to have a rifle or gun in this hand but he should at least be doing something. He has all of the secretaries so he basically doesnt have to do anything but tell them to do his job. I feel like if the president give orders to army and all of the other millitary groups, he should have to be in iraq something. How can he be give the label of "Commander-in-Chief" and he doesnt even have to put his live on the line or anything, while the soilders risk there lives everyday in Iraq. The president has a label on him as if he President is better than any other millitary person. Isnt everybody important down to the lowest ranks, if so why doesnt "The President" do any work. He doesnt even write his speeches. The president just has to much power i think the US should do away with the president completely.
