I know there is fighting in the Philippines and I just want to know the chances of being deployed there.

Not great. THe US does have troops in 'pines, but those troops are a small percentage of total troop levels. You're given a chance to choose your preferences, and if you choose European and American locales, your chances of going to the 'pines are small. Your chances of going to Afghanistan or Iraq are much higher.

I imagine your chances of being deployed to the Philippines would vary greatly depending on which branch of the Military you join. If you join the Navy (Marines included since they're not their own branch) then your chances would probably be a lot greater than if you joined the Army or Coast Guard, and I'm not sure about the Air Force.
Not sure if you're asking this because you don't want to go their because they're fighting, but if that's the reason, then you should probably be a little bit more worried about another little conflict called Iraq, where you would have a much better chance of being deployed.
Once again, your deployments could vary greatly depending on which branch you join and which job you select.

We have no bases in that country. The fighting that is going on is between units of the Philippine Army and the forces of Abu Sayef and the MILF in Sulu Province. No U.S. troops are with those Philippine units.

Why? Do you have relatives there connected to Abu Sayef?
Unless if you are SF or possibly in the Medical Field,
You won't be deployed there!

Since the bases have long sinced closed and there are only a select few advisors, your chnces are just about zero.
The closest your likely to get is Japan.

about zero. currently no US forces are deployed to the PI in any official capacity.
