I have been in the Navy for 8 1/2 years, and I have been on a ship, to recruiting duty, and now with a squadron. I am one PT failure away from being discharged honorably with an ADSEP. My chain of command says they can get me a waiver to stay in, but I don't want their waiver........if the navy won't except me the way I am, then I don't need to be part of there organization.........How can I break it to them that I am just going to leave, without taking their waiver without them treating me like crap? I see it coming to that, and why won't they just let me go without pressuring me? There is better money on the other side of the gate.

rowlfe pretty much stole my answer but I'll let a brother bubblehead do that. :) How in the hell did you let yourself get the point of not being able to pass a PT test? I've been out of the Navy for 11 years now, I'm lazy and a lot heavier than when I was in and I bet I could still pass the Navy PT test. It's not like we're Marines and have to be in top shape. Get off your fat *** and suck it up sailor or just get the hell out.

just walk away then, keep in mind that you've invested 8 1/2 years of your life in the Navy! Do you have a spouse, children?
Consider staying in the reserves until you can reach your retirement eligibility?

best of luck to you and hope that you find a civilian job that can pay you 3 or 4 times more than your yearly military pay!

They don't have to "accept" you the way you are. You joined the Navy and you have to conform to thier standards and that includes being physically fit. If you want to take the discharge, take it. I can tell from your attitude that you would be doing them a favor. No one wants to work with someone so unhappy with thier job. But good luck finding another job with that discharge for ADSEP. Way to show a future employer that you can follow rules and regulations.

there are standards for a reason. if you are unwilling to do the minimum necessary to maintain those standards, I can't see WHY on earth your CoC is even willing to work with you.

If you aren't going to put forth any effort, why should they treat you nicely? you signed a contract, and now you are reneging on it.

Hit the treadmill and lay off the McDonalds fatboy. Be an adult and live up to the contract you voluntarily signed.

It sounds like your Command wants to keep you and are willing to help you fight so if you don't want to stay in go see your Chief and tell him why you don't want to stay and take it from there
