In the movie "Jarhead", the Marines watch a movie where a bunch of Hueys and other choppers are attacking NVA or VC while chanting dadada Daa Daa....dadada Daa Daa with **** blowing up left and right and ****ers trying to dive out of the way.

What movie is that (in the movie)? I've gotta rent it tonight! Maybe I'll play Battlefield Vietnam and have that movie on at the same time really piss my girlfriend off.

I'm not sure how this works because some say that if you can't meet the requirements they hold you back until you can or something but I was wondering about what if you suck so much will they tell you that your not fit to be in the military and send you home? or will they just keep drilling you until you get it.

I am not a sexist or a bigot. However, I went through the US army's gender integrated basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC, in 2003. I can tell you this.

IT DOES NOT WORK.

While I believe in letting women serve, the bottom line is you just cannot effectively conduct co-ed basic/boot camp. Guys and girls at their most sexually active being put together causes problems. Maybe it's a self control matter, but it's different when you know what people will do.

You can't effectively train people when they're spending all their time planning where they're going to screw in secret. People got caught everywhere. Dumpsters, laundry rooms, port-a-johns, foxholes.

Next, our smoke sessions didn't last long because the females couldn't take it. Therefore, it wasn't punishing people very effectively or instilling discipline very well.

There's a reason why the Marine's boot camp is the hardest. It's still completely gender segregated. The military is trading effectiveness to be PC.

53 weeks of defensive language training in monterey?

My husband is in the navy and leaving for monterey- dli very soon, and he just told me that he will be there for 53 weeks, and I am trying to find out what languages take 53 weeks to learn there so we can have somewhat of an idea about what his options may be. I know that it will be one of the more difficult languages- does any one have any idea how long the training is for each language? I am also having a hard time deciding whether or not I should go out there with him right now (we have a 2 month old daughter) or wait until December. I am thinking about taking a college class that is 15 weeks long? Any advice would be appreciated. We are still newly weds with our first child.

I had got some very good feedback, thank you. Troops that are coming back from Iraq and leaving the military, why is it that all I hear is, "The Police Force wont hire me because they say im a liability"? Is that true? If I joined and later on in the near future will that door be shut for me? Do I have to take a pysc test? Will joining the army really close opportunities instead of open them? I have 4 friends that came back not too long ago and are living off of disablitiy income, working at best buy, when they have a degree in law and justice. I had asked my mom these questions but I know she just tells me things to not join the army because she is afraid of me dying. Also am i being selfish, because i want to join the military to make a better me. I want to be something instead of watching from the back. Would you guys give me some advice, please???

At his second inaugural address, Abraham Lincoln quoted what is today the motto of the Department of Veteran's Affairs;

"To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow and his orphan."

Lincoln would be absolutely ashamed if he could see Walter Reed hospital or the way the politicians in this country cut benefits.

He makes some pretty grandiose statements considering that almost 2,100 Iraqi civilians were killed in July 2007. The numbers in August are expected to be higher. That does not add up to 1/4 Mr. Petraeus.
Petraeus said the buildup strategy had turned U.S. forces into pursuers instead of defenders.

He said religious and ethnic killings, or "ethno-sectarian deaths," were the most important measure of progress and that the number of people killed on religious and ethnic grounds in the capital was going down.

"If you look at Baghdad, which is hugely important because it is the center of everything in Iraq, you can see the density plot on ethno-sectarian deaths," the newspaper quoted him as saying.

"It's a bit macabre but some areas were literally on fire with hundreds of bodies every week and a total of 2,100 in the month of December '06, Iraq-wide. It is still much too high but we think in August in Baghdad it will be as little as one quarter of what it was," it quoted Petraeus.

My hair is a little above my shoulders, and my bangs are very short, I need to pin them with bobby pins to keep them back. I also have many short and choppy layers. Also, do i need to dye it another color? It is black underneath, and bleach blonde on top. Dying it won't be a problem, I just need to know to know if I need to cut it?

If your gov't told you that inteligence reports revealed terrorist cells hiding in your neighborhood, would you agree to door to door searches? How far off do you think we are from this scenario becoming reality?

I leave soon for the army, and I'll be in the Army for 6 years. I was just wondering, in the case that I do get pregnant, will they force me to discharge early? I've already talked to my father about a plan about the "child" should I ever have to deploy. My brother David would watch the child while I'm over seas. So is being a single parent in the army a problem? I really love the idea of me serving my country...but I also umm have needs you needs, and I will never ever have an abortion. I just want to make sure that they won't make me leave the army.

Or will the U.S. be there for the next century or more? After all the Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds will never be at peace.

Is the U.S. destined to spend a long long time there?

Ofcourse your thinking how can there be a river, well my friends does anybody know how rivers are formed, well with that in mind, can you argue that already a steady stream has developed in Iraq. Yes a steady stream of blood is already there and that stream if kept fed at its ever increasing rate by 2010 will turn into a RIVER OF BLOOD. I for one wouldn't like to see this happen so I guess my question really is what can we do to stop it. I once suggested we come together as a race and learn to use all our hidden powers. But all that got me was a whole bunch of ridicule. Well you know what I don't care cuz I know I AM RIGHT. If we stop killing each other we have a chance to save ourselfs and the planet and prevent this river from ever forming and dry up the stream that exists now. We can do it all we have do to is wake up and realize desperate times call for desperate measures. My question is do you all love at least your planet and each other enough to stop your own destruction do you?

I am thinking about joining the army but I don't know how much of a good life they live. I want to have money to spend but I don't know how good the army actually treats you I don't really care about the college money so don't throw that in my face I won't to know about the income. And I do plan to live on base so will that cut back on cost dramatically or will they take money out of my check to pay for living on base. TY
