My husband is a U.S. Marine and currently stationed in Hawaii. We just found out he will be deploying to Okinawa in January for six months. I wanted to know if anyone has visited a Marine in Okinawa. If I can visit him there, and if i can- where can I stay and how much a night will we be paying.

He was in the Navy stationed in Japan around 1944 & 1945. I think he was in Okinawa and went on to Hiroshima after the bomb was dropped.

I scored a 72 line score on the Administrative section of the ASVAB Exam. I noticed people talking about scoring 110's and 120's for the line scores. How do I know if a 72 is OK or bad? I know nothing about the Airforce and don't know if I can trust the recruiter when he says that 72 is a good score. Is he lying or is this a OK score to have.

In order to become President, you have to be born in the USA. Unfortunately, this excludes military brats born abroad, even if they were abroad in military service to the USA.

I was born in Germany, on an American Army base, because my dad was in the Army and was stationed there. If I ever wanted to be President, I wouldn't be able to because I wasn't born in the USA.

I don't want to be President, so it's not a big deal to me. But, I bet there's some patriot brats who would like the job, but are being denied the opportunity for the same reasons. It seems to me that they should have that chance.

Your thoughts?

28 years ago today 18 members of Britains Royal Parachute Regiment were killed in an IRA ambush at Narrow Water, Co Down. On the same day in Co Donegal, Lord Mountbatten of Britains anti-Catholic Fascist Royal familly was assasinated in Donegal. The Paras were the regiment behind the murders of 14 Catholic civil rights marchers on Bloody Sunday in Derry in January 72. The events of August 28, 1979 were seen as retribution for what happened on Bloody Sunday and graffiti appeared in Catholic districts in the north of Ireland stating 'Bloody Sunday not forgotten, we got 18 and Mountbatten'. The ambush at Narrow Water was Britains greatest single loss in the troubles in Ireland. Was this attack against the Paras justice for the victims of Bloody Sunday or will justice not be served untill Britain is finally ejected from Ireland?

I want to join the Army for 4 years active duty as an Indirect Fire Infantryman(11C).I'm not scared to get sent to Iraq.
I want to become a soldier, & soldiers fight in wars. But my mom doesn't support my decision to enlist at all.My older brother committed suicide when I was 9, he was 19.And my dad died when I was 13. And she is worried about my safety if I join the Army. She told me, that she doesn't want to lose another man in her life. And my grandma doesn't want me to enlist, & she is probably going to die soon. She is 84, & has a very weak heart. I've already talked to a recruiter about my situation. And he told me that the Army probably wouldn't let me come home to my grandma's funeral. If she died while I was in bootcamp, or serving active duty.I want to go to her funeral. But I don't know how my mom is going to handle her death. She might be very upset, & want me to stay home. Do you think I should wait to enlist until after my grandma dies?
Serious answers only please.
