My husband is a U.S. Marine and currently stationed in Hawaii. We just found out he will be deploying to Okinawa in January for six months. I wanted to know if anyone has visited a Marine in Okinawa. If I can visit him there, and if i can- where can I stay and how much a night will we be paying.

Hi there! My husband is a marine stationed in Hawaii too! We live on MCBH. Anyway, you can take a mac flight to Okinawa that doesnt cost much....but be prepared for delays getting a return flight...it is space available. You only pay for your weight so it is super cheap! You can stay in the base hotel on his base...

Is he going ot Camp Foster? That is where my husband was when he was not on ship. It may not be feasable to visit him during a 6mo deployment, depending on what he is doing. The base is pretty americanized and I have heard base hotel is pretty nice, but dont know the rate. Here sis alink to the hotels located on the various bases in Okinawa.

you probably wont be able to visit him and stay with him at all. however you could take a vacation there maybe ......but probably wont see him much. most of the bases have lodging that you can stay on leisure travel if there is space available for around 30-40 a night, however if you have to stay off base japanese hotels are ridiculously priced.

if it is a deployment, you cannot go visiting. If he was on one Year unaccompanied Orders you could go.

Pretend he's on a ship for the six months. he's there to do a job and he will not be getting much free time at all.
