I have no problem with Islam
I don't support any war against Islam

I wouldn't say the USA is at was with Islam and think to be honest its a pretty ignorant and naive question. I would educate yourself a little to avoid any bad communication.
Its a war against terror and the ignorance of terrorism.
Its a shame the world can't live together. Its big enough.
I have got to say I am disgusted by some of the answers on this page. Some of you really do need to be educated. Please think about what you are typing as comments like this only make you look very uneducated and small minded.
I am surprised by some of the answers made by some of you in the US. Some Christians have done bad thing and action taken has been against the individual not the religion.

The USA is not in war against Islam. If we were I doubt we can win it because there are about 2 billion people adept to Islam in MANY countries around the world. So tone down and think before you say things like this!

No. If you mean to defeat Islam as a religion, then you're badly mistaken. Sure, the US can defeat any form of religious extremism (be they Islamic, Christian, Buddhists). But to defeat Islam itself, no. Islam is the biggest religious faith in the world. It accounts to more than 60% of the world's religions. The Islamic faith extends to the whole Middle East, Africa, Europe, and most of Asia.
Even GW Bush never dared to say "War on Islam" or "War on Muslims" on his rhetorics. The very moment he says so, that would be the end of the US as you know it. This will put all the Islamic moderates like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the rest of the Muslim world against the US (never mind their differences as Sunnis or Shias).

We aren't (officially) at war with Islam. That's like saying "I think the USA can win the war against Columbia" when all we are trying to do is stop the cocaine from coming in.
Islam is a respected religion which has a respected worldwide membership. Your question shows that you are either monumentally under-educated, or diabolically cynical and clever.
I'm guessing the former.

The US can't defeat a religion. That doesnt make sense. You can't kill or capture a billion people. The US has to fight a propaganda and secret mission war like the Cold War to defeat Islamic Terrorism

We're not fighting a "war against Islam", but important facts like that seem to be lost on cons who only seem concerned with spreading their hysterical rhetoric and propaganda.
