I might be wrong but I think Army Rangers are better than Marines in general because Rangers are Special Ops.

Army Rangers are an elite "part" of the Army. While the Marines are an entire service. The Marines also have "elite" subgroups like "Force Recon", so it would depend on what "type" of Marine you were comparing the Army Ranger to.

some of the people are very misinformed on rangers , to be an army ranger is a process if you look at black hawk down those were the beginning process of rangers there are 3 phases to army ranger training most dont go through because it is hard. you have the first stage you get a ranger tab that is red and black after your first enlistment you then go to rip school and you earn a black and yellow tab then you go special forces who are all rangers for those who dont know and upon completion you get a green and black ranger tab with no crest go do your history people now those rangers consider themselves rangers and all else are noobs just because one is in a ranger unit they are not full fledged rangers if one wanted to further his training and add to the very lonely lifestyle they could opt to join the navy seals the most elite of recognizeable joint fighting division and then only then could they be accepted into the most devastating squad in millitary history which is delta force they are army ofcourse with marine and navy members , sorry didnt mean to get too technical but back to the answer in simplified terms army rangers even in phase 1 are more hard charging than the average marine and to the jughead who compared ranger school to that of basic in the marines ask a ranger that and se wont you wonder why you asked him standing up but youll get your answer laying down and usually thats accompanied with a headache, black eye, swollen or broken jaw or a combination of all three , so to all my fellow soldiers ESPRIT DE CORPS

I respect them both. An Army Ranger is better than a Marine by far.

This kind of question comes up over and over again.

If I needed to seize a beachhead ---- Marines

If I needed to lead a ground advance --- Rangers

It all depends on the job.

Look it up....The Rangers were created to resemble the Marine Corps....Units that were capable of fighting and self-sustaining.....The Rangers are an elite force of the Army...Marine recon is the elite of the Corps...So compare those two....Your basically comparing apples to oranges...And yes Ranger school is the equivalent of Marine Corps Boot Camp....Suck it up boy's.........Semper FI....Hellbent Charlie...86-92....
