I know what they are doing for our country is great, but I just wish it could all be over! I dont want to think the bad that comes with him going over there, but what else I am suppose to do? I am proud of him, and he knows it and I am spending alot of time with him, because what if I dont see him again? WHY DO WE HAVE TO CONTIUNE ON WITH THIS WAR!!!????!!! WHY WHY WHY????

This is what I have heard from my friends.
The three main branches, US Army, USN, and USAF, just don't get well enough with each other. (I am excluding USMC because they should be kind of relying heavily on USN, correct me if that is not true)

Whenever it comes to defense budget allocation they criticize each other over what is redundant or even useless.
My friend also told me that USAF generally hates the Army especially and consider it the dirtiest job on battlefield.

Also, he said there are stories about how the USN cheered when a F-14 shot down a F-15, and F/A-18 shooting down a F-22A during mock battles. While the simulation results are absolutely true, did this "cheering" part really happened?

I know this sounds like a weird question, but I am just curious because US forces are the absolute symbol of military might, cooperating with each other closely to produce the finest effiency... at least that is the cover story lol ... I just want to know more side stories about it...

Where and what exactly does it state in the UCMJ about the navy not accomadating those with children/ child care issues. I am getting screwed by one chick in my command that feels a need to not stand mid-watch (we don't stand duty days, but do 4 days a week straight watch on shore duty) because of "child care issues." And I know this is not right, but need to back up my case with actual proof that she should be treated the same as the rest of us!

I see neither success nor progress in the so-called war against global terrorism. I am really doubting if this terrorism could be eradicated, neither it is being fuelled. Nothing could prove that progress is being made in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Why? So many other countries were outmaneuvered by the Axis early in the war. The British had Dunkirk, Singapore, Malaya, Burma, Hong Kong and Crete. The Americans surrendered at Wake Island, then at the Philippines to a numerically smaller force, in addition to performing poorly in the Kasserine Pass, Savo Island, Pearl Harbor... shall I go on? After WW2 ,everyone ended up conceding their colonies anyway, it wasn't just France.

You get my drift. I'm looking for good answers, not necessarily someone that agrees with me.

I work for a company that has an Air Force contract and we wanted to hang each of the armed forces flag along an aisle. Since the Air Force is our main customer it was suggested we put them first, but I don't want potential customers from the other branches getting offended. I also don't want the Air Force people getting offended if they see Army and Navy before them, but would it also be offensive if I took it out of order?

In August, 1992, then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney answered questions after giving a speech at the Discovery Institute in Seattle. Operation Desert Storm had been over for 18 months, and the troops were pretty much home. 146 Americans had been killed, and Kuwait and its oil had been liberated.

From the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:

"And the question in my mind is how many additional American casualties is Saddam worth?" Cheney said then in response to a question.

"And the answer is not very damned many. So I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the president made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq."

... Going to Baghdad, Cheney said in 1992, would require a much different approach militarily than fighting in the open desert outside the capital, a type of warfare that U.S. troops were not familiar, or comfortable fighting.

I am 25 years old, 5 feet 1 inch tall, petite, got no muscles and lame. I look stupid when I run coz I don't know how to run at all. I did not play when I was a kid so I grow up physically inactive. But I want to join in the Army, I started exercising and plans to undergo furthermore personal physical training before entering..but I am being discouraged coz there might be vigorous physical activity when I am in and I will end up quitting...Will you still encourage me to join in the Army? Do you think I can make it?

Im in the navy and my husband is in Iraq (god bless him!!) It just upsets me when people say things like the military act like middle schoolers. Its those middle schoolers that are protecting us and fighting for our freedom. I think they just are a lil ignorant on the facts of the military and what they are here for. I just cant help but speak up when someone bad mouths me and my family. (we are part of the military)

Hi,
Ask a boy what he will grow up to, and you often hear Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, or Police. Rarely Coast Guards. While talking of gallant actions, people mention Marines at Okinawa, Army in the Philippines, Air Force in Europe, Navy in the Pacific. But no mention of Coast Guards anywhere. Are Coast Guards really needed? Why not parcel their job to the Navy and the Police? Why, in heaven's name, do we have such a force?

Hitler had counted on the destruction of the Royal Air Force (RAF) in order to launch his attack on Great Britain across the English Channel, code named "Operation Sealion." Hitler abandoned this plan after the RAF survived the Luftwaffe's onslaught. My question is,

Considering the limited range of the Luftwaffe's most effective fighter at the time, the Bf109, would the German's have been better served launching Operation Sealion anyway and forcing the RAF to attack over the English Channel thus meeting the Luftwaffe "half-way?" Any other "what-if" thoughts??

I posed a question recently about what would you do if a soldier deliberately shot a 6-yo CHILD with an ak47 in its hand;

I asked another question Would YOU shoot a 6yo with an AK47 in its hand....
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AloXmWtIQjiChGxEiPjIBS3ty6IX?qid=20070823090312AAoGQm6

Someone responded that it COULD be media propaganda and they'd be interested in seeing this supposed video evidence this national newspaper stated it had... QUOTE "The Sun has video evidence of boys barely old enough for school handling AK47 assault rifles."

Should this "video evidence" be put into the public domain?

Do we believe such "evidence exsists"?

my soon to be hubby is deploying soon, and we thought the ss act stated somewhere that precentage rates had to be dropped when a soilder deployed? We were told since he used the MILES program to purchase his car, that the ss act was invalid, and he may have to refinace with a local bank to lower his apr. Is this right, or how do we fix this?
