There are "Young Marines" clubs in several areas of the country. You may try to find one in your area on the internet. That will give you some idea of what it's all about. Good Luck in whatever you do.
BTW, always spell Marine with a capital M.

Type in Young Marines Program, to find units in your state

If you're really interested http://www.youngmarines.com/ would be a great organization to join. http://www.seacadets.org/, http://www.jrotc.org/ or any other military structure group might also be good. Any would give you some idea of the military mindset to see if you are really interested. They would also give you the experience and training to make boot camp easier if you do end up joining.

But really, at 12, what you need to do is to make your mind and body strong. Look into your school's sports and academic opportunities. You want to pay attention and do well. And stay away from bad influences like drugs, alcohol and gangs. Then you'll be set for the military or any other course that your life may lead you to once you hit 18.

you're way too young to be thinking about the marines.
it's honorable that you're committed and want to help your country, but who knows what could change in your life between now and then? once you become close to being 18 is the time to think about this. i have a lot of friends that decided they wanted to join the army/marines/etc when they were 17 and signed up the minute they were 18, but later regretted it.

make sure you know what you're in for and don't make this decision too quickly. it will really change your life.

also talk with your parents about it when you get close to that age!!

I wouldn't worry about it right now...you still have 6 years to make up your mind. Start thinking about it again when you turn 16-17. Many things will change during the next 6 years. You might decide you would rather go to college to study a certain thing etc.....

You've got about 6 yrs before you really need to make a decision. Give this some thought. You never know where you're going to be in your life by then.

You should't know if you should. You have six years of thinking and research to do about it. Take your time and look at all your options. You will know the answer when you find out enough.

No problem,
You still have a load of time to change your mind!

Just think : no girl, no money, no freedom, risk to die, .....

Keep playing computer games : how many time you die in one game? So, continue the fun without the risks!

Have nice time for the rest.
:)

When I was in the infantry the mentality was KILL DESTROY TERMINATE. They attempted to train me to kill on order without question. You basically sell your soul. I was miserble. You might have to fight a war under questionable circumstances. It's a fact that people in our Government own stock in companies who make a lot of money off war.

Would you really want to kill someone and not sure if you were in the right?
