...just curious. It seems that more often then not, things have a way of either dragging on for a very long time, or the occupying power leaves. I have one example:
The Indian Wars in the west. We did win that one, and I would classify it as a prolonged guerilla conflict. Can you come up with some others?

Dramatic film shot has revealed that British troops in Afghanistan are told to leave heroin-producing opium crops untouched - contradicting Government claims it is committed to wiping out the drug.

The footage shows soldiers fighting the Taliban in a field of opium poppies.

One admits he wants to throw a grenade into "their beloved" plants, but says he would get "the telling-off of a lifetime".

Hi, I'm about to go into my senior year of high school, and everyone in my class took the asvab test last year and I made an 86. I'm seriously thinking of joining either the Navy or the Airforce, but I think I might have flat feet. Does that mean that I can't join? I'm also about to get my blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do. Would the recruiters take that into consideration? Any info would be greatly appreciated :) Have a great day!

Because i tried talking to a online recruiter and he was being an idiot and told me, " Do you not understand plain ENGLISH?!"
Like if i was some idiot, he tried to say stuff that i know wasnt true and he was talking about the reserves, I DONT WANT TO BE IN THE RESERVES, i want to be in active duty.

Also what would a Damage Controll Man Job be like?

And is DEP means going to Basic during the Summer then Finishing Graduateting , then goto my PA Duty.

Also do you have to take a Penicilin Shot during basic?.....

I know I'm young but I'm very patriotic and this is something I have wondered for a while. There have been less than 4,000 deaths of Americans in Iraq and everyone is saying how terrible the war is, how we should pull out (in my opinion that would make the war a complete waste we should finish the job), and I have even heard people comparing it to Vietnam. Vietnam had over 50,000 soldiers killed in it. Vietnam had even more people opposing it than the war in Iraq so it would seem people would be grateful we arn't fighting a war were we are losing 4,000 soldiers in a month or two. So how is it that in 30-40 years so many people forgot what it takes to win a war?

Hitler's ill health in 1943 seemed to change much of his thought process on the war. What do you think would have happened if Rommel had become fuhrer of the Third Reich in a military coup?

I see these things as undisputable:

-The government lied about the reasons for going into Iraq.
-The government systematically and deliberately lied about the reasons for going into Iraq
-The Iraqi people do not want to be and never will be a western 'democracy'
-Republicans are too afraid to leave Iraq because it will blow up on them
-Democrats are too afraid to leave Iraq because they think Republicans will blame them for losing the war
-Regardless of when we decide to leave, we will lose the Iraq war
-America lost the Iraq war a very long time ago
-Republicans and Democrats have failed the American people

Leaving Iraq is very simple. We turn around and we leave.

The Iraqi government is doomed regardless of whether we stay. We should not spend our money, our time, and our blood another second in this waste of a war.

We owe these people nothing. Screw Iraq, if they want their freedom let them fight for it.

I'm planning on joining the Air Force sometime within the next year. Before I decide on anything specific, or get pushed into something I don't want by a recruiter, I was trying to get some job choice help. I know a lot of what I can choose between deals with my test scores, but still... So are there any recommended jobs for a woman in the Air Force? Specifically a woman with a child (aka: a job where I'm unlikely to be deployed where my child can't follow, such as Iraq).
