My husband is considering joining the Army National Guard and he's looking at the different MOS'. The one that stands out most is Helicopter Repair(15r or x). What we want to know, and recruiters are so vague and noncommital, is:
A. How long is AIT for this job?
B. Where do you you get sent for this AIT?
C. How well does this transfer into civilian life/employment?

I would appreciate and give best answer points to anyone who can give me more detailed information about this. Copying and pasting a link to http://www.1800goguard.com is not helpful, I've been there. Thanks!!!

I was just watching the evening news on ABC and there was a segment on gang members in the military!
What? a gang was formed with military members or these soldiers had an affiliation to gangs before joining the military?
wasn't there a security/background check performed before they were allowed to join the military?

I would really like to understand the justification for something like this and if it is something that has happened in past wars. When we hear stories of hundreds of millions of dollars being lost, billing a wounded soldier for $700 makes no sense.
I've included one link about one story, but it's hardly unique.

My husband was denied legal representation, he was also denied a request for discharge. Due to a chain of incidents, he has lost his trust and faith in the Department of the Navy and wishes to get out. They are setting him up for failure. A lot of favoritism aboard his ship has occurred as well as harassment and degrading remarks. He is on deployment. I am desperately seeking help, advice and any information you could provide me.

At his second inaugural address, Abraham Lincoln quoted what is today the motto of the VA, "To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan."

I think Lincoln would be ashamed of the way our veterans are treated.

I turned 18 about 3 months ago and I am interested in joining the air force (USAF). What will happen after I sign up? How long will I be in? What is the process? Will I be trained like in the 'movie ful metal jacket'? After training, where will I be sent? Do I have a choice of where I go? If sowhat are some good places to be stationed?

Ijust want to get all my facts straight before I devote myself to something so serious.

Help! Thanx!

Is our media 'objective?'
Do they have a political agenda?

How do you know what is *really* going on?
Why do the headlines not read "US Military losses at lowest level in a year"?

I examine these along with the method a KGB defector used to read Pravda during the Cold War.

No politics. Just the groundtruth from a combat veteran that has been to both Fronts in the War on Terror, backed up by independent research and a study of history.

India does not have a War Memmorial.Only Memmorial we have is India Gate which was built by Britisher's.We keep on building expressways, stylish offices..but we havent even built a War Memmorial for our brave soldier's.It is a shame.60 years have gone by,when will we give the due respect for our soldier's?
Did you remembered those soldier's on the 8 th anniversary last week. The media also didnt give much importance except some half hour programmes. The Government also didnt do much in celebrating the victory.
Those 527 soldiers gave up their life for everyone of us.Dont you think they deserve more...

I am going to enlist in the USAR and take ROTC in college some time in mid-late 2008, as I am still a senior in HS. My MOS would require the Secret Clearence, so would ROTC for a commission. I have heard both sides, I've heard that I dont have to turn in my citizenship, and others said I have to. Is there a RULE for this or is it 100% case-by-case as it is said?
