Marine is an infantryman first, sailor second, and whatever else third and an expert in all three.

Marines take the ground and hand it to the Army to hold it.

However, that said, the Army's got alot more guys, guns and explosives.

Its an even cut.

In a land fight haha, the army would kick *** due to the higher number of abrams, remember that people might say the navy has there own planes pilots arent marines, marines are a seperate fighting unit from all this. Modern day army is the ones with the most tanks and apcs. Now all this is based on the army and marines being seperate units and if all the army and all the marines fought army would win. Put a single platoon or a single soldier in a fight and the higher training (physical discipline, marksmanship, and higher standards) of the marines would win. Hey and if you get right down to it, airforce works for army more often then marine core and they got raptors now, superhornets dont have a chance against against them and thats what wins wars now.

Numbers wins. Army would win. It's not like the movie "300" no matter what a Marine says. The average soldier vs. the average Marine? I'd give it to a Marine. Army typically has better equipment and more numbers. Thats why us Army folk give the Marines respect. The Army is huge though, then if you include Reserve and Guard components that suggests it even more. Nothing against the Marines but size wins.

I know everyone thinks the Marines would win, because they are "bad a$$," but the Army has most of the same toys (with exception of EA-6s, AV-8s, F/A-18s) and a numerical advantage. Plus they have Patriot which could shoot down all the Marines jets.

So my pick would be the Army.

obnoxious. this question will just bring up fights. "MARINE CORPS KICKS ***" "NO **** YOU ARMY ALL THE WAY" people before u start getting ignorant, the army and the marine corps have different jobs in combat...there not the same so they wouldnt ever fight eachother

Hey Sean G, the Marines train so much that all of our ranges and schools are full, so we have to take over the Army's ranges and schools where their are a lot of openings.

Well well well.......there can be little doubt that if one had to be in combat it would have to be as a Marine. As a former Marine that has fought,I couldn't fathom being anything else.
What sets these orgs apart is DOCTRINE.
It is exceedingly difficult to become a Marine, and I do not just mean boot camp. The training never stops, and only those that embrace the hardship truly understand just what it means to wear that title, Marine.
As for our little brothers wearing Army green, they serve a purpose, they make great mop up troops and build comfy bases fast.

I have served in both the Marines and the Army. Basically, the Marines have much more motivation, discipline, and are better physically fit than the Army. That said, there are way, way more people in the Army than the Marines and the Army would eventually win with their greater numbers.

Pizz poor answer Matt, the USMC doesnt have those schools, never has, never will. Your reliant on the Navy for Pay, Medical support, Chaplains, Transportation, and the Army for Combined Arms Training, Airborne training, Logistics training, numerous others.

Just like always....
