All I can find online are the requirements for pilots (which has to be correctable to 20/20). I know the requirements for the military are that vision needs to be correctable to one of the following:

20/70 in one eye, 20/40 in the other
20/30, 20/100
20/20, 20/400

Is the coast guard similiar? (I have vision correctable to 20/20 in my right eye and 20/30 in my left eye).

I am a Vietnam vet, I was a Sergeant and i fought in Vietnam for 6 and a half months and was given a purple heart, so last week I went down to the veterans home to visit some of my old war buddies from Nam, we I entered I realized that half of the people were on one side and half were on the other. After I talked to the Vietnam vets for half an hour I went to the other side of the room and not a soul would talk to me!!!! They just ignored me completely and I made several attempts.... believe me they just wouldn't talk, I don't get it!!!! I think they are mad because we didn't win the war, well I'm sorry we didn't just nuke Vietnam like they did to Japan, I just want to know why they wouldn't talk to me, I just don't get it!!!!

I am 18 years old and aspiring to win an NROTC scholarship . If I don't get it, I would like to enlist (and still attend college) but I'm afraid I don't "make the cut" in regard to medical standards. I have been prescribed prozac in the past, which did nothing to/for me, and also Adderall for Attention Deficit Disorder. However, the adderall was only because my brother was prescribed it and it did wonders for him and my mother immediately concluded that I too was ADD. Yet I was never really either depressed or attention-deficit, I was just bored with school and wanted a challenge (even after I applied to and attended a selective boarding school for a challenge, I was still bored.) I have always wanted to be in the Navy as I value structure, discipline and the Navy core values. I also am confident I would score quite high on the ASVAB because I always tested very high in school and on my SAT. What will absolutely disqualify a hopeful-seaman? ADD? Allergies? rosacea? cavities?

I'm in highschool. And the normal life just doesn't sound good to me. I want to be something extraordinary.

What are all the types of Special Ops in the U.S. Military?

And what steps should I take to make my dream come true?

Johnson Beharry, the latest recipient of the VC does not deserve the medal.
His convoy was ambushed,he panicked, reversed, crashed ,injured himself. His commander was injured,Beharry correctly pulled him into the vehicle.Beharrys convoy was also ambushed on another occasion.
The point here,Beharrys behaviour was not above and beyond the call of duty. His actions(reversing vehicle during ambush)was inconsistant with procedure(to advance through ambush to avoid obstructing following vehicles). No other actions resulted in the diminishing of enemy forces or equipment.the action of hauling his commander through the hatch was probably brave but no better than any other rescues taking place on a daily basis in Iraq and Afghan theatres.

My question here,in no way intends to show that Beharry is any other than a decent and capable soldier serving our country abroad.
What I do suggest, the award was political and it diminishes the status of all former and worthy recipients.

Do you think we should impeach Bush/Chaney and then fine them for 1 billion dollars each?

Bush is our "official" commander and chief, Chaney the unofficial, and just as they did for our current veterans, put them out without benefits, and send them a HUGE BILL for the PREVIOUS PERSONALITY DISORDERS prior to getting into office that we did not detect.

To bad we can not give them a LIFETIME of nightmares and a purple heart for the physical disabilities they recieved, as the 20,000-30,000 veterans are also recieving.

Both Bush and Chaney agree that its a good idea, so do I, so lets give it to them!

I know many people are against the war in Iraq. I am an Operation Iraqi Freedom Vet who opposes the war, but I would hate to think my country opposes me because what I was called to do. I live in a small but patriotic town and was treated great. Is the rest of the country as supportive?

Please no Comedians or Jokes, political comments.

I just want the outright answer on how we can actually win the war in Iraq.

In WWII it was Japan & Germany's unconditinal surrender.

How can we win and what will define the ultimate point of victory?

For the active military, the reserve & the retired :

What was/is your callsign or your nickname ? (humoristic of course) and Why ?

Mine is Engineer...because at my beginning, I was a professional to break nearly everything. You know the good old hand light TL-122 ? My first lasted about....3minutes : just the time to let it fall.
And I get my surname : the engineer : good in theory, not as good on the field

are just dumped somewhere in the desert?
I guess the satellites do not monitor every single garbage truck heading into the desert to dump the waste.
Obviously Saddam stated he had got them and obviously he had used them at least twice.
The chemical WMD usually do not just vaporise without any residua.

The first period we have results for compares the 2 months prior to the surge to the two months after it started, from the Brookings Institute.
I have analyzed those results from a military perspective and put that and the link to the original report on my blog: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-DfkctJU7dK5B7LcNROoyVQ--?cq=1

My SPECIFIC QUESTIONS are:
In those four months:
Are civlian deaths up or down?
in Baghdad?
in Iraq?
Are car bombings up or down?
Are political assassinations up or down in Baghdad?

How does this affect your position on the war?

Are you confident enough in your opinion to look at the 'facts' or will you only regurgitate what your politicians and journalists tell you to think?
