why should not a country undergo military rule? what are the bad effects? is there any good effects?

Martial law... curfews, stay in-doors, businesses closed type stuff, depending on what the orders are. This would only happen under extreme circumstances, like a major attack on the homefront, a war started within the border. Advantages? You're holed up in your house not getting shot at... but let me tell you, I don't want martial law to happen... means that something awful is happening and we're having a hard time controlling it.

We just went though a period of Martial Law in Thailand as a result of a bloodless coup, for the first 3 days we were not allowed access to CNN,and BBC news, I live in a village nothing changed life went on as usual. Same-o Same-o.

You lose your rights, those in power can do whatever they want and enforce laws and rulings much stricter. Solving the predicament takes precedence over any feelings a citizen might have.
