I'm in highschool. And the normal life just doesn't sound good to me. I want to be something extraordinary.

What are all the types of Special Ops in the U.S. Military?

And what steps should I take to make my dream come true?

You have to already be in one of the branches of the military. If you are in the top 2% you may be able to get into one of the special ops schools

If you happen to know what you really want to do so young...... great but it will take focus...... repeat focus. As special ops people are assigned in various roles in various places of the world knowledge of history, cultures and languages are key. The basic thing is to be able to think outside of the box and lots of reading will help that.

Of course physical comes in. Think stamina such as running, biking, soccer and those sorts of things. Mass bulk from only lifting weights does not give stamina. The key is to be able to keep going no matter what.

Other than that join and go from there. Try to figure out what you might be good at as units have people from various specialties. But again read about it a lot to get a real veiw of what it entails...... not the TV version.

Possibly you could inquire at your local american legion and ask if they have someone who is former SF. At first it could be for a history report or something. That person though might point you in the right direction and later may turn out to be a valuable connection into the community. But if you do this don't be all into "I want to blow things up". Be more interested in all of the things SF do in various places in the world.

Good luck and above all....... try to keep your nose clean.

You don't just join them, you get selected after passing all the rigorous tests that you must complete AFTER passing "Basic Training" as an ordinary soldier.

Why would you want to join the special ops anyway? Why not try helping people instead of killing them?

If you're in High School , try reading 'Separate Peace' about the guy who joins the Army and returns all mental. In NYC, half the homeless guys are ex military, and the most screwed up guys are the special forces people
