I am planning on enlisting about a year from now. I am 17 years old with only 3 months left of my Junior year of high school, and at the end of my junior year I plan on entering the DEP (delayed entry program).

I play lacrosse for my school, and the past two years whenever the season starts up I get horrible shin splints. I come home from our 2 hour practices every day after school needing to sit down and rest them for awhile, icing them. They are pretty painful, and with the amount of running I do during lacrosse practice, afterwards they are very painful.

I have been looking for ways to get rid of these shin splints. They went away a little over the summer because of resting for a few months, but when we started preseason conditioning, they began to come back.

I know it is important to try and get rid of them now by strengthening up my shin muscles, but I was wondering if anybody with military experience has had this trouble, and how you coped with it, or got rid of them

While we're there, their support among arab people grows, as does worldwide sympathy for their cause.
While we spend billions, bleeding our treasury, they spend relatively nothing.
While we're there, our leaders restrict our freedom, and our people grow frustrated.

All while their cause gains the legitimacy of being called a "reistance to occupation"

So...my question is...why would the terrorists WANT us out of Iraq?

This is for research for a novel, not military-based, but to cover their tracks of a sting operation that would last ten minutes. Is it possible? I've checked it out at Wikipedia: it's less harmful and dangerous to use it.

I know it's gonna sound silly but my husband just deployed to Japan for 6 months, and i'm finding it hard to stay alone or sleep in the house. This is my first time ever being alone, ever, my family is abroad and we have no kids. Luckily some of my coworkers were nice enough to invite me over to their house for a week or so but it's still hard. I have stomach cramps, i can barely eat or sleep. I wanna be happy again. Any advice?

I thought about this very interesting topic....did the US Gov ever thought about using nukes against Germany? or that they did, but by the time they had nukes ready to go, Japan was the main focus? Thinking about the fact that the Nazi's were ruthless in Europe and the heavy cassaulties suffered by the allies (especially the poor Russians), i wonder why nukes werent used on the Germans?

thanks all for your answers.

If a marine has an APO and a FPO address, which one should you send mail to?

2007-03-10 20:47:43 · 7 answers · asked by jwaites 1

Sometimes it really sucks living overseas with a US address... everything gets sent to San Fransisco through the USPS and they ship it here. Why isn't APO and FPO addresses an option when registering for certain sites yet Puerto Rico, Guam, the Somoa Islands, etc., are on there!? And what do I do about it? It costs just as much to send things here as it does in the U.S.!

I'm not asking which is the best, but I've heard several people say paras are more mentally tough than marines, what do they mean by that? Do paras get special training to mentally prepare them for war? also are they as fit as a marine would be? I've also heard people say paras are more elite than marines, but marines are commandos so I don't know what they're talking about

I've wanted to join the marines for a while now, but I'm also looking at the paras, I don't know which would be best for me so some info would be appreciated here

thanks
