I am a 32 year old undergraduate student. Am I too old to even attempt trying? Or should I hope a graduate chapter invites me later on?

One is never too 'old' to participate in the intaking process. But, one suggestion is to keep in mind the age of the other individuals that will participate in the process with you. If you are willing to deal with that, along with knowing this will take time and a true committment, then I would say go for it.

As for a graduate chapter inviting you, it all depends upon having your face in the community (doing community service) and attending sorority sponsored events. And then even so, there is no guarantee that you will get an invite.

Do some research on both the undergrad and grad chapters in your area before making your final decision.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated does not have age requirements on intake on any level (undergraduate or graduate). If you are seriously interested then I would suggest attending RUSH. If you fell as if you won't fit in with the members then you may want to wait until graduate chapter. Please remember that Alpha Kappa Alpha is bigger than individual chapters, clusters, or regions. Alpha Kappa Alpha is one entity! If granted membership, you will not belong to that undergraduate chapter forever.

So, to sum up, if I were you I would attend RUSH!

Good luck!
