The VA hospital that I go to deliverers excellent care. Walter Reed was selected for closure during the Clinton administration or early in the Bush years. Once a post is on the death list is is on the bottom of the list for getting new equipment or personnel. They are certainly not going to do any new construction or much upkeep. I have heard a lot of stories about bad care of wounded troops but I have yet to hear much direct testimony from the troops themselves. I wonder how much of this is election rhetoric.

This is a loaded question- the questioner knows the answer and is simply trying to get others on his/her bandwagon. This is not the point of yahoo answers- make the statements on your blog.

Politicians, in general, don't even know how to take good care of themselves. They have surrendered their well-being in exchange for power. So, if they can't take care of themselves, of course they won't take care of others.

Bush isn't a unique politician, he is a typical puppet. But before the world jumps on him, I recommend that everyone looks at their own corrupt, inhumane governments, and realize that there is no reason to think that the problem solely exists in Washington DC.

Spend a day at the Brooks Army Medical Ceneter is San Antonio or at Walter Reed and you will be embaressed by how our government takes care of those who are injured and their families.
any asumption you might have about how they are treated are wrong. i could go on and on, but it is just words. those who are picking up the peices of their shattered lives are dealing with it on a daily basis. in a war where billions are wasted daily, the army loves to nickel and dime injured soldiers.

Understand that the lack of quality care is a characteristic of socialized medicine. The government can't handle this sort of thing with its bureaucratic red-tape. Be very afraid of politicians advocating socialized medicine or you too might end up in a cockroach and rodent infested hospital ward.
