Law Enforcement & Police - October 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Law Enforcement & Police

I come home work and there's a note (addressed to me) on the door to call the policy department. It's a handwritten note, but I called.

The police didn't have any record that they came out and they think it was a prank. If they had, they would have left some sort of official notification.

But, what is someone is going to the cops? I wonder what I did? I just called, so I assume that if they went to the cops, the police would have some sort of record (It's after midnight).

I was shopping all day and have all my personal things (purse, wallet, cards, phone...).

Should I be concerned?

I was coming home from a friend's place at 1am after watching a late night college football game, and in a neighborhood near my house I got pulled over for running a stop sign. It was pretty late and I was tired but I'm almost certain that I made a complete stop at the stop sign. Should I go to court and fight this ticket? Nobody else was in the car with me and it was 1am so nobody else was on the road except for me.

How do you partake in police auctions. I always hear my older friends talking about lawnmowers, cars and stuff they get at police auctions for really cheap. Where do we find some in our city?

I was arrested for the first time in my life and it was pretty overwhelming to me. i didnt know what jail was going to be like, and i knew that i was going to be kicked out my house. so i said "jeeze i might as well kill myself." so it was the cops duty to send me to the nearest psych ward for evaluation. it was a 5150. later that night i talked to the doctor at the psych ward and she knew i wasnt really going to kill myself. it was late and she said i will let you stay the night since it's already midnight and you can be on your way in the morning. does this mean that the doctor had rescinded or discharged my 5150 so it wouldnt go on my record? cause i know that the psychiatrist i talked to is the only one who could have rescinded my 5150. now, if the 5150 is on my record, what are the steps to expunge it? all answers are most appreciated.

About twenty minutes ago. While my daughter and I were talking to each on the telephone, my daughter's estrange husband a United States Marine sent her a text message stating that he feels he wants to kill her. He says he wants to make sure she does not hurt him again. This Marine is stationed at Camp Pendelton in California, my daughter , his wife lives in Los Angeles, and I live in Pennsyvania. What should I do ? I am serious.

I got home tonight and there was a ambulance, a small fire truck and a huge pumper truck outside my apartment building!

I thought maybe there had been a fire. Getting out I saw the Fire Department were in the restaurant across the street. Looking in the window I saw the paramedics aiding an elderly woman having trouble breathing.

I've never been able to figure out why on such calls they send the big pumper trucks when they might be needed else where if there were a fire somewhere.

Do you live at home and commute or sleep in jail? Do you get to choose what to do or is it wherever they need you? Do you have to wear overalls or your own clothes? Do you choose when to work? Are they strict? Do they work you hard? Is it 8 hours a day? Does it vary by your circumstances?

Long story short. I sued a small battery company for selling me a battery that was inaccurate and defective for $70. Now, after I won, how do I collect from the owner. I talked to him and he refuses to give the $$$, or refund, or exchange. He says he wants to stay friends, and he likes me? Not interested in his charm or output.

What are the ways in Los Angeles California that I could go about getting this money? Lien on his property? Or what?

When talking on a tapped phone by police, and if buyer talks to the seller on his cell phone, and the buyer says "can u get some". Is that enough to get him arrested? To keep in mind, buyer didn’t mention the drug, or meeting, or names. Just the blunt statement "can u get some" and the seller responding with “maybe in a little while”. The seller's phone is tapped BTW.

Is this thier chance to assert some authority over people after getting thier butts kicked in school?

Or does it take a certain mental disorder to want a position in which they feel more in control of daily situations?

Some cops are helpful civil servants but most (in my experience) just seem to have a chip on thier shoulder.

What's really going on?

It seems like the only time a person is considered a serial killer is in extreme cases...for example, Jeffery Dahmer.

On the other hand you can read in the newspaper any given day about a 'gang banger' who was FINALLY arrested. This gang member has a rap sheet 20 feet long and is suspected or known to have killed 3 people over this-that or the other thing. BUT he is never labled as a serial killer.

im just sayin, they're always speeding and turning on their lights to get around traffic and then they cut them off and coast. when they pull you over and you ask them why and they have no reason. then they bring you back your information and tell you to leave. i want to citzen arrest one of them , would it be taken seriously.

I got pulled over while doing nothing wrong because officer decided to run my tags. I didn't have insurance and that is why he pulled me over. More to the point how can he be running tags and driving at the same time? Isn't that distracting like reading a book or watching tv while driving?
