About twenty minutes ago. While my daughter and I were talking to each on the telephone, my daughter's estrange husband a United States Marine sent her a text message stating that he feels he wants to kill her. He says he wants to make sure she does not hurt him again. This Marine is stationed at Camp Pendelton in California, my daughter , his wife lives in Los Angeles, and I live in Pennsyvania. What should I do ? I am serious.
I feel I should contact authorities, but I don't know where to start. please help

The only thing you can really do is start with you're local law enforcement agency. Depending on if you live in a city or out in the country, you're best bet would to probaly go to you're local sheriffs department. This is all just my opinion, I've never delt with that before. I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. I'm sure if you get in touch with your local agency something can be done. bless you

Call his base commander at Camp Pendelton in Ca. and report this to them. They will be able to take any and all necessary steps/measures that may be needed to protect her from him. Also tell her to file a police report as well, he must not be allowed to get away with this behavior as it's unacceptable to say the least.

He will be held accountable since he is held to a higher standard as a United States Marine. If he made this call on base they may be able to see that he did in fact make this call as she is saying that he did. If the call was not made on base, he can still be held accountable for making threats to her that is what Federal prison is for as well.

Do tell your daughter to report this to his supervisors, I'm sure that they will want to hear from her personally since he made the call to her and not to you.

God bless, I'm sure that all will work out with this situation. They will take of of this situation.

Saying he *feels* like he wants to kill her may not be the same thing as saying he's going to kill her in a court of law. If she really feels for her safety, she should obviously call the police herself. You feel like you should contact authorities, but if she's over 18, she has to do that for herself. She's a big girl, she can take care of herself.

So he said something out of hurt and anger. We have ALL done that. What did she do? He did not say he was going to kill her either so it isn't a threat. If she's that afraid she would not have called mommy so far away. She would have ran out her door and hid somewhere and contacted the police. Words are simply that, words, espectially words spoken out of pain from someone who hurt them.

You have raised a daughter to marriageable age and you don't know what to do? You have more problems than your your estranged daughter has. And her "Husband" has a wife in L.A.? Y'all sound like the Real Orange County Housewives.

BTW, his being a Marine wouldn't happen to have anything to do with anything, would it?

She needs to go to the local police (hers not yours) and prefer charges.

They will investigate, with the assistance of the military and resolve the issue.

Do it now.

I agree w/Gray Wanderer...
Have her visit the site he has included in his answer...
Have her call the numbers he has included...
Have her notify all the proper authorities...
You mentioned he "texted" her... this is good evidence.
Do it now.
