well I recall some mentioning, that they had saw some special on it, and quite frankly thats pretty disturbing. I mean I know they dont make that much money, as if they were in other lines of work, but for them to have these standards is pretty scary.

Minimum age is 18 and the maximum age is about 45 (police officers have to retire at a certain age, I think it's 55-60?). However you're unlikely to get into the police unless you have some life experience, so you won't get in at 18 after leaving school/college, even if you have perfect qualifications and no record of being in trouble. More like when you're in you're at least in your mid 20's and have worked a few years or your life or/and got a degree, perhaps even served in the armed forces. For now, just do as well as you can in your GCSE's and keep out of any legal trouble and look at other things you're interested in doing, then think about the joining the police when you either finish university or have worked in your trade (or whatever it is you would also like to do).

Regarding "sub intelligence". Are you referring to the Navy's underwater vessel? Or the delicious sandwich?

It's not a requirement. Police Officers don't have to know anything about submarines.

I do know of a police department that had a police of not hiring anyone with an I.Q. more than a certain number. They said that this was because anyone smarter would find the job boring.

You, of all people, shouldn't be questioning the intelligence of others.
