Under what circumstances may a Nassau County Police officer arrest someone without a warrant for a crime?

Firstly can I say loud and clear I am not a person who is generally prone to extremes in anything, however I am starting to think that it is now time to return to the death Penalty for certain crimes.
Specifically those sick evil bastards that abduct, molest and murder children.
With the improvements now made in DNA evidance etc the possabilities for a innocent person to be convicted are very slim.
Why should this filth be released back into the community often only to offend again.
Don't we owe it to our children to ensure that once caught they are prevented from ever re-offending again ?
The horrors that these poor kids must go through does not bare thinking about ? Don,t these beasts deserve to be killed ?
I feel that with lots and lots of other crimes rehab is a valid option, but not for this scum, they pose to much of a danger and are, in my opinon, never really cured.
Our children are the most precious people in our world, they have the absolute right to be protected.

I got arrested last week because of someone who scammed me, & they thought I was the one who forged a bad check. I didn't.

The check-cashing lady who called the police on me called my house today & said, "Are you still associating with that scammer? Because if you ARE, then you're going BACK to jail, & I'm calling the police."

their lives on the line so we can be safer? I believe the ones that really do not like them is because they feel they are above the laws. Police are human and of course, they are not perfect and do make mistakes, but come on--they are in a job that they do not know from day to day if they will return home safe or not, yet they still get up and do their job in hopes of making a difference in society. My attitude is, if you do not want to be harrased by the police, then do not break the law. Its really pretty simple. And, NO--I am not a cop, I just respect them.

I recently, while sitting at home in my living room, had my hit by a hit and run driver as it was parked in front of my home. My friend had seen this happen and told me so I took chase after the perp. After about a 3 mile chase I convinced the guy to return to the scene of the crime so he did.
A motor officer was dispatched to the scene and I don't know if he just did not want to be there or what. He let the guy go without so much as a verbal warning or citation. I about flipped. You mean to tell me I can hit and run something and nothing will be done about it? Where is the justice?

I am not saying that I do not go over the speed limit, but 99% of the time it is only 2-3 miles over. I am talking about people doing 80, 85+ mph. Then they are such a hurry, they tailgate to try and get around you. Montana used to have a speed law--"SPEED LIMIT"--"REASONABLE AND PRUDENT". Not anymore, too many people were having accidents and getting injured and killed. Do you think there might be a reason for the SPEED LIMIT?

Four Oaks in Independence Iowa is reponsible for numerous infractions of childrens rights and safety and as a former employee and mandatory reporter I notified the Deparment of Human Services but nothing substantial came of it except a mock investigation, entirely because Four Oaks is the lowest bidder and money comes before child safety for the government sometimes. Four Oaks is informed before there are so called random inspections, I known because they would have us clean up a day in advance. I've done all I can, people need to repond, and not just to this question.

i live in seattle wa, i have no resources no extra money and a criminal history. why does this give the police the right to break the law to get a conviction? the bike patrol in downtown seattle lied and said that they seen me standing in an alcove in a drug area, and that when i saw them i started walking and droped somethin which gave them probable cause. when the truth is i had just parked my car legally which they saw me get out of and i started walking when behind me a officer said "oh look what we have here" one of them asked me "where are u going?" i said im going up the street to have a drink. he looked at his watch and said "its 2:30 in the morning put your hands up against the wall" they searched my car and said " u kno if we find anything we are goin to seize the car too" regardless if anything was found they mentioned none of this in the police report which would have made the search illegal. in a court of law who are they goin to believe? no one is above the law??????????

Over the summer we may have to move from Jersey to Maryland. I am going to be 16 the end of June, and we will be moving after my 16th Birthday. I know in Jersey you can get your permit after completing drivers ed (which I have done already) and doing your 6-hours after you turn 16, but I don't know about Maryland. Is there a separate driver's ed course I'd have to take? The course I took had no behind the wheel training, just classroom instruction and I took and passed the written test. Would I have to take another test and pretty much throw out the Drivers Ed I took here, or would I be able to transfer that over to Maryland or what?
