You can buy equipment from Radio Shack that allows you to do this.

I've never heard of a 5.8Ghz phone that did not scramble the signal between the handset and the base. Even if the signal was intercepted, it would be unintelligible without a descrambler and the security code that is reset whenever the handset is placed on the base. That said, give enough technical ability and effort, anything can be tapped. Every government on the planet spends significant amounts encrypting their own communications and trying to break everyone else's encryption.

my baby bro used to do that to my 2 nieces when they was about 15 me & my oldest bro & his wife would sit and laugh at them,listening to everything they was talking about.
