Many criminals are given death punishment because we think that it would create a fear in other criminals who think of committing such crimes. But we come to know that the same crime is repeated.......So what should be the real solution???

I was traveling in the left lane of a highway when a school bus stopped in the right lane with red flashers and stop sign. I came to a full stop. A semi was barreling down on me probably at 70 MPH. The driver screeched brakes and his load started swaying badly. He would have hit me and the bus if I had stayed there. I decided to pass the bus to get out of the semi's way because he was endangering lives. For about 200 yards past the bus the semi driver was in the left shoulder trying to slow down enough to not hit me as I was accelerating from a complete stop. I got into the right lane as soon as I could even though it meant missing my left turn ahead. I just had to get out of his way.

My opinion: Only the semi driver should have gotten a ticket because we were on a straight road with miles of visibility ahead. He should have seen the bus flashers and my car and been ready to come to a complete stop, but he couldn't have even stopped 200 yards past the bus.

My question is straightforword, but twofold:
1) Is there one specific court in which federal racketeering charges are prosecuted? I don't know if this is a simple answer or not, but the reason I ask leads me to my next question.
2)The reason that I'm asking this is because I am looking for legal filings related to a family member from a federal racketeering case in the early 1990s. Is there any specific (and preferably free) online (or if not, some kind at least) resource where I can access the full text of the court documents detailing the charges (i.e. the indictment or other similar documents)?

Thank you very much for your time, and I hope that this isn't too complicated of a question.

I feel they should. If the police wouldn't chase them , they wouldn't run. Many innocent bystanders are at risk. Unless the police know a suspect is armed and dangerous I say let them go and hope they catch them later. If my kids ever get hurt or killed as a result of one of these chases, you can bet I would sue the agencies involved. What are your thoughts?

The points I found most interesting were:

they were foreign-born muslims---

not connected to Al-Qadia or other International Terrorist groups---

Three illegals who had lived in US for years--- two had green cards allowing them to stay in US permanently--- one US citizen (Sponsor?)

The large range of military installations they had staked out---

The fact that an alert citizen turned them in (Is it possible that Homeland Sec. alert sys. works?)

They were training in NJ, where D-senators vote in favor of pro-illegal issues

They said there were 10---they caught 6. Where are the other 4?

Is it possible at all that there be individuals for whom a guarantee of food and shelter , no work , and seclusion might be a not so bad prospect ? (disregard sexuality )
Can a person who is in prison for life , benefit from any money he might have , like buy things for himself and enjoy them inside the prison ?
Can a person who is inside for life study and get an official degree ?
Can an inmate gain in any way from an activity while in jail ? Like writing a book or books ? Or doing online jobs like tutoring ?
Can an inmate have continuous connection to the internet ?

If you are an American running from the law, where can you go to be safe? Are there foreign countries, which do not care about your criminal record or outstanding warrants for your arrest in the United States, where you could go to live in safety? What is the process for getting there, since I assume the government would not allow you to fly out of this country if you use your passport?

I am a 40 year old female, and my younger brother (30) has suddenly accused me of sexually abusing him when we were both children. He claims he had a "flashback" of some repressed memory and is going to try to take me to court. I can't even describe what I'm feeling right now because there are no words. My whole family is shocked- this came completely out of the blue. I am innocent and have absolutely no clue what to do- I have no prior history of sexual abuse with anyone, no arrest record, nothing. I don't know what's going on with him or why he would do this to me. I don't even really know what to ask here specifically, except can you actually be brought up on charges for a "repressed memory" or "flashback"? I was about 11 years old according to him, so that would make the abusive incident almost 30 years ago. I'm afraid my reputation and life will literally be ruined if he does this, and don't know how to defend myself. Please any advice would be helpful.

I have a friend that lives in Utah. While driving his company's vehicle...he was stopped by the police and given a ticket for windows that were considered "too dark". Thinking his boss would handle the ticket, he gave it to him. Sometime shortly after, he was involved in a hit and run accident caused by a wreckless driver. He suffered many injuries and was hospitalized for recovery. To make matters worse, his same boss let him go while he was still in therapy a few weeks later. Two months later...while driving his own vehicle...police stop my friend for slight speeding...then Arrest him, handcuff him with feet restrains no less and jail him...all for not paying the ticket for tinted windows!! His boss never handled the ticket...Now, three months later, my friend discovers in court today that he is being given a felony charge for driving his company's vehicle that had tinted windows. Can anyone spell weird?? This reiks with all manner of foulplay...yet, it's true. Help Anyone!!!

I was wondering, do regular traffic cops carry business cards? If so what would they need them for?

I came across this statement from the #1 dirt bag, Paris Hilton:

"It's really annoying. They're like, `What's your phone number? Want to go to dinner?' They won't even give me a ticket. They just pull me over, and the paparazzi, of course, take a picture. All the time. I have so many cops' business cards."

I knew about the red light on cars, but not the *77. It was about 1 P.M. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her to never pull over on the side of the road, but rather to wait until she gets to a gas station, etc.

Lauren actually listened to her parents' advice, and promptly called *77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way.

Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes!

I never knew about the *77 Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe & quiet place. You obviously need to make signals that you acknowledge them (i.e put on your hazard lights) or call *77 like Lauren did.

Too bad the cell phone companies don't generally give you this little bit of wonderful information!

*Speaking to a service representative at Bell Mobility confirmed that *77 was a direct link to state trooper info. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about *77.

SEND THIS TO EVERY WOMAN (AND PERSON) YOU KNOW; IT MAY SAVE A LIFE.
