Her typical speed on the motorway is 100 MPH. Yesterday she was late for picking up our son from school and achieved 110 MPH in a poxy Vauxhall Corsa. I said to her yesterday the only result at that speed is 'death' if you crash. Any advice from police officers welcome coz i am worried now.

some friends of mine were shoplifting (stupid idea I know) When the store brought them in and called the police. They have to pay a fine to the loss prevention dept. of that company and they were not arrested just given a ticket. They now have a court date and I was wondering what might happen to them. I heard that if they were not arrested when the police were first called that they will only get a fine. Is this true? One more thing...(stupid again I know) one of them had there baby with them. What will happen with that?

Lets say that you are under 18 and you are driving and a cop pulls you over. He sees that in the seat next to you there are empty beer bottles on the ground. He gives you a breathalizer test and you score a negative because you weren't drinking. Can you still get arrested? I would like some facts or websites that prove this.
Thanks!

I know the old advice, to just hang up. But, what if the call was a bit threatening, from a stranger?

At a stop sign before entering major street, I stopped little past stop sign because I couldn't see the incoming cars with tall van and cars that were parked on side of the major road.
Then an officer on motercycle at the stop sign knocked on my window and said I needed to stop at the white limit line for pedestrians.
I stopped where it was just about a foot ahead of the line because I clearly saw the both ways for no pedestrians coming before the stop sign.
But then the conversation after that was wierd;
1-He asked me if it's my car that I'm driving. When I said yes, he asked me what year it is, ovbiously not believing my answer. He didn't ask for my registration though.
2-He then wrote a ticket which I didn't know what it was, so I asked if it's a ticket and he said "No, you need to go to the court by this date."
But then later at the court I found out it's a ticket.
I'm so mad how he treated me and gave me a ticket for that and for lying.
Can anyone give me best defense advise??

Which do you feel is more just? I need survey statistics. You can put you age if you don't mind, and also any debate you have against the other choice.

This has happened to a few friends of mine:

They were doing nothing wrong, maybe going a BIT too fast but nothing outrageous. Didn't realize they were being pulled over because they were driving down their OWN street pulling into THEIR OWN driveway, and the cop was way down the street. (or something of that sort) when the cop pulled into their driveway, when they were already out of their cars about to walk into the house... When the cop starts screaming at them to get back into the car and put their keys into the igition. So of course they did, but is that legal?

I live in Missouri. I was issued a ticket for driving 44 mph in a 30 mph zone. I drive this road everyday. It is a 40 mph zone but the officer insisted otherwise. He even told me where he clocked me at and it is in the 40 mph zone. Is there anything I can do?

I was driving yesterday on a main road in TN when I suddenly saw that the car in front of me threw away a big bag of a “value meal” from a fast food restaurant out of the window. I was in shock! I wanted to write down the license plate number, state, and the county, but I didn’t know if this was going to be any good. Was the guy going to be persecuted and he would end up paying a fine, or was the government official just going to tell me that there’s nothing that I could do? Is there something that we can do about this?

I live in a condo community and they had 3 speed bumps in the beginning of the lot, in which the first (if your coming) or the last speed bump (if your leaving) is placed on a hill so it is hard for my car to make it over with out the car studdering over the bump or I have a hard time getting over the bump slowly although if I give it too much gas my car bottoms out on it. . that was the first issue. . the second issue is now they added 3 more that are "violent" in the best words thats how i'll describe the new speed bumps . . Now is there any laws that state how far away each speed bump can be placed and is there a law that permits the height of the bump? Also you should know I live in Worcester, Massachusetts . .I would really like to address this issue with the condo association promptly so any laws or advice about this would be greatly appreciated. .I'm starting to be concerned with my car!! thanks
