How many are they hiring and where are you on the list? That will tell you a lot, but in general there is a huge shortage of qualified candidates so if you are squared away you should be ok. Being spanish speaking is always a plus! Good luck.

Also don't be afraid to contact their division in charge of hiring from the list and ask them how many they are going to hire from this budget and the next budget. Most agencies start their new budget every July.

You don't say how many deputies they plan to hire in this cycle. You don't state where you tested at on the list (what your number is) - number 4 looks darn good, number 50 not so good. Sorry to be vague but there are many variables. You can count on half of the applicants being rejected during the background investigation and another third going as a result of the polygraph testing. Good luck.

Hope this helps.

whilst eligibility lists get previous, applicants fall off very rapid. no longer in elementary terms did you be conscious for the Sheriff branch, you in all hazard utilized at many of the community departments too. In regulation enforcement, there is often turnover and it takes so darn long to do the pre-employment stuff (actual, history, phych examination, polygraph, and in spite of else) that recruiting is an entire time activity of the branch in spite of the style of openings. It does no longer be wrong to call and ask in case you're nevertheless under attention.

Well it all depends on what number you are on the list and how many people that they are hiring. Most people on the list get washed out during the polygraph test and oral interviews.

Sounds like you've got some good qualifications. Usually Veterans' preference is given to state, county, and govt. jobs also. But if you don't have that, I understand that it's supposed to be decided by points on written exams, physical exams, and interviews. Good Luck !

No one can answer that, except the recruitment section of the department you wish to work. Too many factors we can't know about nor predict.
