Been in jail for DUI and before that for theft/stolen goods. On both times I was treated just the smae as people who were in for violent crimes - same over the top security when being transported and out of unit, closed visits, sme time in cell etc. Why don't they make a difference at county jails like prisons about the different type of people who are in there?

In our little town we have on our most northern tip, we have 25 yards of express-way, we don't even have an exit, it's 4 miles down in a neighboring community.
Yet on any given day you can find 2 of the 3 on duty officers with their radar guns patroling our little patch of highway. The officers must travel through another town and then travel back to get to the 25 yards they protect dailey. Our local newpaper just ran an article asking why..we all want to know why. We had a robbery here last Month and it took them 15 minutes to respond because they had all that back tracking to do. We all know why they do this, to catch a soccer mom doing 69mph in a 55 and get some $$...now City officials & Police are pointing fingers at each other on who's fault this latest blunder is!

Shouldn't we allow Police to DO Police work and
not focus on 25 yards on highway that NObody cares about?

I got 30 days in jail and a suspended license for DUI - first driving offence. I was only barely over the limit and could drive OK - just got pulled over for something else and got caught. I know I probably got a worse sentence than most because I've been in trouble before but it seems to me that things are very harsh now - people years ago would have been fine to drive with a few drinks and wouldn't have ended up in jail for something like this.

I live in Maryland and I recently went on a road trip to Mt. Snow in Vermont. On my way back, I was stopped doing 83 in a 65 on Interstate 91. After he pulled me over he asked me to roll down all the windows, asked me why I was in Massachusetts, and asked my friends questions on where they were from. He took my license and quickly came back with a ticket. He said slow it down and stated he gave me a break by putting down 75 in a 65. On the ticket it states LIDAR & ESTIMATED. Interesting how you ESTIMATE a LIDAR reading.

My main question is this. I do not care about the $100 fine. I am wondering if Massachusetts will report the speeding ticket to Maryland and assess the 2 points Maryland imposes on speeds 10-15 miles over the limit. I have never had a speeding ticket before and am with GEICO. I don't want to be dropped from GEICO nor have my insurance premiums rasied. Thanks.

Is there some law being broken for me being punished for standing up for my rights? My employer is more concerned with production than my health, and I am ignored, chastised for getting a lawyer,so that i could fight for the benefits I should have gotten:Now because I took an out of court settlement,my employer feels if I was really ill I would've taken it all the way to court, and really sued them,so now my record at work presently is"refusing to return to work",even though I'm on disability with 4 doctors treating me and 'I'M AWAITING SURGERY...HELP!!!!
the charter of rights and freedoms says"every individual must be treated equally"I have been discriminated upon for what I did...

Let me tell you a story... BRIEFLY:

An Officer of the Ottawa Police searched a youth's car (with their permission) found $9000. All the money he had in the world (can't keep it at home because his house is robbed constantly) so the cop took the $9000 and told the youth that he can have it back when he can prove it's his! This guy has a 'reputation' but at the time had no warrants, charges pending, conditions etc. but this cop just TOOK his $9000. Is that allowed? Or did a 'COP' just rob a kid? I asked this question before, but I am still not quite sure of the answer. I am on probation in North Carolina for a speeding ticket for a year. A condition is I am not allowed to leave the state. I need to fly to Wisconsin though. In answers to my previous question, people said to get a travel voucher, but my officer's supervisor who doesnt know me is pretty mean and will probably not approve that. I called p.o today and he told me that she might not approve it. So I am wondering if I just go withought telling them, is there anyway that my flight will go on record and they will find out? Or does data like that definitly not make its way into the probation computer database? thanks

Is there a secret to the psycological test or physical test? Will misdeamenors keep you from getting the job? What do they look at when they are interviewing you? Is the job even really worth the money and benes? Your imput would be greatly appriciated.

In late August 2005, the Phoenix Police Department began conducting a broad investigation into distribution of the drug Ecstasy. Police search patterns included many neighborhoods in close proximity to the local university. The department was able to ascertain a description of potential Ecstasy distributors from what it considered a reliable source.
Officers Kevin Sedwick and Todd Melbourne were on patrol through the streets of north Phoenix when they spotted two college-age males walk into a pizzeria fitting the source’s description of the potential Ecstasy distributors. The officers entered the parking lot and witnessed these two men speaking to an older man behind the counter. An exchange of unknown items took place, and the two men immediately left the restaurant. They returned to their vehicle, left the parking lot and drove west on Sugar Hill Drive.
Sedwick and Melbourne followed the vehicle north on States Road to the Sunset End Motel, just south of the 202 Freeway. The officers drove into the motel parking lot and witnessed the two men from pizzeria knock on Room 126. The door opened and the two men walked inside.
Officers Sedwick and Melbourne approached Room 126, knocked on the door and announced their presence. Behind the door, the officers heard what they later described as a “rustling” noise. A female, later identified as a student of the university and renter of Room 126, opened the door. With her consent, the officers entered the room. They heard a toilet flush and witnessed the two men exit the bathroom, nervous with pale faces. The officers again noted they fit the description of the potential Ecstasy distributors. Officer Melbourne walked into the bathroom and observed several pills on the floor around the toilet. The men were arrested.
Four baggies of Ecstasy pills, later retrieved from a thorough search of the bathroom plumbing, were used as evidence against the men.

When the Florida concealed carry law went into effect, anti gun view proponents decried the law saying that blood would run in the streets. In fact, what occured was a reduction in crime. Kennsaw Georgia has a "must have" ordinance, a law which states each household must have a firearm. Last time I looked, Kennesaw did not have anywhere near the murder rate of say, Washington D.C. with its thirty year gun ban. Which it is interesting to note, was just declared unconstitutional by an appeals court. I'm just curious. My second question points to the Preamble of our contitution which guarantees me the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, If the goverment repeals our 2nd amendment rights. Can they protect me at all times, in all situations, in all places?

A person leaves the scene of a non-injury accident involving a single car and a fence and returns an hour later as the law enforcement officer arrives. Officers perform sobriety tests, and the person passes. They lecture on the fact that the person should not have left the scene. No arrest or ticket is provided.
