You would think that in a civilized, 21st century society on the planet Earth that police officers would be honest with everyone, even suspects in criminal investigations. Why do people have to pull teeth to get some shred of honesty from them? I would really like to know. Seriously. My opinion of police has plummeted to the ground in recent weeks over the ridiculous level of dishonesty that I have been spoon fed.

Comments from LEOs welcome, although grain of salt/rose colored glasses certainly needed.

An elderly gentlemen has come to me for help. He often goes out for a long walk and recently the cause of nature gave him an overpowering need to discharge ballast, his problem being that he is on medication called Bendroflumethiazide, which reduces blood pressure by making person go to toilet frequently. But when he went to the nearest public toilet he found it locked, which they apparently do because of vandalising by local yobs. So getting more and more desperate he eventually did the job by a tree in a local park, ensuring nobody was around but not knowing area was monitored by police CCTV. Soon after completion of his action he was horrified to see a police panda car approaching, but says he escaped and shook them off by disappearing into the woods and back home. But he is now frightened to come out, as he says if he is spotted by police, with his picture on CCTV, he will be arrested and so become a criminal. Do others have any advice to pass on to him about this heinious crime

Hello,

Police in the UK arrest people and handcuff them. I have never been arrested myself, but can you catch infections from handcuffs?

Do police sterilise the handcuffs?

Because surely people can catch infections from them.

Thanks,
Ste.

I once was ready to open the door to a small mom and pop store when police skidded up and jumped out with shotguns drawn . Fortunately they seen I was going in and not coming out , the robbers were gone already.

Whether it is wise is another matter, but there don't seem to be any time restrictions, the car will be empty.

I went to a local bar/club on Friday night and I did not have enough cash for the cover charge so the person at the door told me to go to the bar and use my debit/ bank card to get the money from the bartender. The bartender took my card and charged me for the cover charge and gave me the cash. I just noticed that they added an extra $5 on there !

It has made my card overdrawn now by $2.50!

What can I do?

4Over5 years- We have feared the local law & the neighbor who is always drunk,is a drug addict and a convicted felon BUT he is related to the law in a small town. He 4-wheels on my property (serious damages), has set my property on fire, cut down my trees so that he can 4-wheel, come to my door with a gun, shot at me, threatened my parents with a gun, tried to run us off of the highway, etc. We have tried the police:when they came he was standing on my property with a gun saying that he came to shoot my dog because he was mad at us for shooting a shot in the air to get his pit-bulls to not attack my disabled mother on her porch (we are animal lovers and we just could not shoot the dogs, then). He told the police that he was going to burn the house with us inside. He tried to attack my mother, on one occasion, and me, on a different occasion:THE POLICE WERE STANDING THERE. I was told, laughingly, that they will do nothing until he actually shoots one of us. We have never broken the law.

We have to many laws for a free country.
CA - No vehicle without a driver may exceed 60 miles per hour.
TX - It is illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time while standing.

It is clear from a previous question I asked that lots of people prefer to ignore the responsibilities that illegal drug users have for the crimes that are committed by drug dealing gangsters.
Shouldn't the users face as severe penalties for their crime as the dealers do for theirs after all they are part and parcel of the same problem and if the users disappeared so would the dealers and the associated crime?
