I went to a local bar/club on Friday night and I did not have enough cash for the cover charge so the person at the door told me to go to the bar and use my debit/ bank card to get the money from the bartender. The bartender took my card and charged me for the cover charge and gave me the cash. I just noticed that they added an extra $5 on there !

It has made my card overdrawn now by $2.50!

What can I do?

People can be so ignorant at times. Just because he went to a bar/club does not mean hre was getting drunk. Like he said there was a cover charge, which means there was most likely a band or comedy act playing, people do go to shows without getting drunk, not me, but some people do. You sound really stupid when you assume things; good job guessing on the internet people, really. great answers.

Like the other guys said though, contact your bank if you really want to. If there is a charge on your card that you didn't agree too, you can dispute it, they'll contact the club and see what you were charged for, giving you an oppurtunity to explain your position. At the least just keep this in the back of your mind when dealing with people in the future.

If a charge of less then $10 makes your account become overdrawn see a credit counseling service and stay out of bars/clubs!

Wish I could give you some great advice but honestly their is nothing you can do.

This may have been a charge for using an ATM card, or they may have just cheated you. But without a recietpt, and having a chance to look at what you signed, there isnot much you can do

If you only had like 10 bucks in the bank you shouldn't be going out anyway

There's probably nothing you can do.
I'm wondering why you were blowing your last 9 or 10 bucks at a bar to begin with.

I doubt there's any legal remedy other than informing other patrons of the bar's tactics.

If you signed it, you signed it. Pay attention next time.

You can call your bank and dispute it, but good luck.
