Law Enforcement & Police - March 2007

I was clearly shocked and upset when watching all about the fatality of Trinity who was involved in the car smash with the lorry.
I really don't think that they should have filmed the traffic policeman walking right up to her front door and seeing her mother answering it, even although it was not a close up shot, this must have been even more upsetting for her family.
My thoughts go to her family.
Anyone else find this upsetting?

Ok... This is kind of like the woman who dialed 911 because she wanted to give a deputy (who had just left her house moments earlier) her phone number. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here is the link to the article:
http://www.soonews.ca/viewarticle.php?id=7593

Here is the story/question I need an answer to...

A woman is pulled over for speeding. She is released with a warning. The next day, while driving down the same road, she is pulled over for speeding again by the same officer. She informs the officer (a male) that she was speeding on purpose because she wanted him to pull her over so she could see him again and ask him out on a date.

1. Can (or should) the police officer charge the woman with reckless driving? If so, do you think the charge will hold up in a court of law?

2. What other citations/charges can the woman incur for her actions?

2. If you were the police officer, what course of action would you take?

Thanks...
T.

General Legal Question?
Last night I was arrested for assault and communicating threats, the assault was spitting in her face. Communication of threats was she stated I was going to kill dog and slash her tires. The report was filed on 2/17/07 and I did not get arrested until last night. BTW, the dog is a house dog. My phone records indicate she called me at 11pm the alleged incident night and she also called me on 2/19/07. If u are so scared why are you calling me? I never answered the phone.
Now, I recently ended a relatinship with this persons daughter and her mother filed the charges. Remember she was on my property, however I still never said anything harsh or spit, I cant spit becasue of the meds I take. The mother and daughter both have felony convictions of making meth. I have none. There were also no witnesses. What do you think will happen? What should I do? The policeman said he was sorry and the whole thing was ridiculous. I was released on a promise to appear also.

I once got this emailed that said that there is number you can call if you dont want to stop when a police car is tellin you to pull over. This is because one time this girl called the number because she wanted to be in a public area and the guy ended up not being a real cop. Does anyone know what that number is?

It's for research and I'm too shy to go down to the local police station and ask.
:)

So... you know those camera's that law enforcement patrol cars have now? The ones that sit on the dash board and record the police officer when he approaches a vehicle?

Are those turned on/off by the police officer... or do they automatically start recording when the patrol car is turned on?

Can you explain to me how those cameras work?

Thanks...
T.

Okay, here's the deal- My sister's boyfriend is on Parole in Georgia. He traveled (without permission) to Alabama and sure enough, got 2 tickets, speeding AND driving without a license.

He HAS to go to court for the license ticket (can't pay it online) and show proof of a license (which he intends to get before court date).

My question is, will they bust him for traveling out of state without permission when he goes to court? AKA, will they (Alabama court) even know that he is on Probation?

They didn't arrest him when he was pulled over, however, I worry that when he goes to court, they will have found out that he is on probation in Georgia and nail him when he is in front of the judge.

Any opinions?? Please, ANYONE!!

So many people tailgate and are completely oblivious to it. So many people will just sit in the left lane on a freeway with the attitude "I'm going fast enough" and force people to pass on the right (which is probably more dangerous that someone speeding in the left lane). Why can't people use the left lane as a passing lane like it is supposed to be and not as a fast lane (I hate that term).

The number one cause of death for teenagers is car accidents. Drivers training needs to start at 14 and needs to be way more rigorous. Teenagers should not be able to drive alone until they are 18 and should be accompanied by a licensed driver when they are 14 - 17. I can't even remember the countless situations I ran into while on the road as teen that was barely touched in drivers education. Maybe teens can be that driving at high speeds when conditions permit is safe if you know how to drive.

I'm from Connecticut and while i was at Elon university in North Carolina i got a alcohol citation. I was seen walking back from a party with an empty cup. Th officer asked me why i hid my cup and i didn't answer. He made me sit in the car while he interrogated me further, i never conceded to drinking alcohol. I refused to take a breatralyser and he said this would be treated as an admission of guiltand that it didnt even matter because i was obviosly drinking. I was offically charged with "Being less then 21 while possesing malt beverage." I need some advice on what i should do. I am going to go back and contest the ticket what should i say?

A good friend of mine was molested by two of her cousins when she was young. She is not sure of exactly when it happened, but she does know that she was between the ages of 5 and 8 years old. She has never told anyone but me, but I think she needs to tell SOMEONE. She will be 19 this year, and had it not been for the two of them, she would still be a virgin. She wants to know if she can still talk to the police, or if she would be better off just talking to a therapist.

I was instructed to pay £25 (double the fare price), but take note I didn't have any means of paying it. Reason being I was genuinely in a rush that morning and left my wallet at home. Subsequently I was cautioned and told One Railway will contact me in due course.

So today I received a letter. It was from the Prosecution Unit of London Eastern Railway.

"Dear sir,

On the (date here) at (station here) a person giving the above name and address was questioned by a member of rail staff about the payment of a rail fare.

Before I proceed further with the investigation of this matter, i would like to give you the opportunity of responding with your explanation concerning this incident. Please complete the bottom section of this letter and if you wish to make any comments about the incident, please do so on the reverse."

It then has a section for name, address, DOB, occupation and national insurance number.

What is all this about, and what will happen if I sign this?
