I keep getting prank calls and that person keeps threating me. I have his phone number and I wanted to know should I tell the police and how long do I have to report this?

best wau to discourage pranks is to hang up without any reaction. You can also try blowing a whistle in the phone, really loudly.
Since you have the phone number, you probably should call the police and let them know. If there is anyway you can use your answering machine to record the threats, so much the better.
Sometimes, if you call the police and just ask them to have a chat with the person, it can discourage such behavior.

Have you tried to do a phone reversal search yet? See if you can find out who exactly is doing it. Try this website: crimetime.com Once you get there click on the black book online link. Then click on the phone reverseal link. Enter the numbers that you have. You can find out at least what their service provider is, if it is a cell phone or not. I would definitely get in touch with your phone service provider asap, who can give you information on what to key into your phone that will actually trace the phone call!

I would call the coppers if you want, but it might be a couple of kids playing around and the cops can't do much about this..
I would just mess with them back..Start crank calling the number you got..better yet..post and we all can crank call this person...How fun ...Yo is your fridge runnig,, uh yeah,,,well go catch it...LOL

well im an ex-prank caller myself. me and a couple of friends used to prank various places, and one of them was the local applebees. anyway they told me that the had my number and i didnt believe them, but the next thing i knew it blew up in my face and the whole thing came down on me. all i really had to do was go down and apologize to the hostess, but i could have gotten a crimanel record. when he calls again just read of his number to him and that should scare him off, or you could just hang up because its your response that makes it fun for the caller, and if thiers no response, no fun. cuz i dont think you want to give him a criminal record, he's just a dumb kid like i was.

The longer you wait, the less serious the police will take it.
You need to report it when it happens.
